The Others! You have to see it! Such a good movie! It's not really that scary, but it does have paranormal elements to it. The ending definitely caught me off guard.😱

Edited by ChaoticPhenomena: 10/4/2018 4:59:47 PMThe problem with modern scary movies is that they only consists of jump scares. A vast majority of them hang onto this concept making it nearly impossible to find great scary movies. That and as I get older, they become more and more implausible in my head. The other night I was watching the original Halloween , and I just kept repeating to my wife “Stabby stabby” but with a lisp. Maybe I’ve outgrown their far fetched plots. With all that said, A Quiet Place isn’t bad. Definitely better than the remake of IT.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 10/4/2018 7:11:31 PMI prefer sci-fi horror, and usually just rewatch some older stuff this time of year. The Thing(1982), Alien, Aliens, Event Horizon, etc.

Spoiler Free Review: A Quiet Place is a movie with a great concept but a bit muddied up with some Hollywood cliche. I think it may be because Michael Bay is a producer? Jim from The Office did a pretty good job directing though. Overall it felt like a horror movie that you can watch with your tweenaged kids. Predictable, great concept, a little overproduced I give it four Halperts out of five.

Spoiler Free Review: Hereditary This movie is a slow burn that builds momentum until a very creepy and somewhat confusing ending. It's beautifully shot and very detail oriented. Dark, moody, artsy. I give it four and a half creepy grandmas out of five.

Edited by Upperclass Bum: 10/3/2018 4:59:58 AMI was just about to ask if you ever got around to watching Raw last year, but I see it on the list. Watch that shit, mang. I also see Triangle on there which is one of my favorites too. Anyhue, I can't think of a decent recommendation other than The Wailing. It's long as -blam!-, but it's a 9.5 / 10 imho. Edit: if you're strict on it being 31 movies, I'd strongly recommend swapping out Veronica with The Wailing. It's obviously subjective, so I prefer to avoid saying stupid stuff like "x is better than y", but dude... Veronica isn't even in the same league. Veronica has the depth of the shallow end of a kiddie pool. The Wailing isn't just creepy, it makes you think and gives you that desire to rewatch it multiple times despite the ~ 3 hour run time.

How about some good old The Exorcist, Omen, A Nightmare on Elm Street.
-
Definitely gotta go for Halloween. It's one of my favorite slashers. I heard the latest one got some pretty good reviews, so you could watch that one (assuming you've already seen the first 1978 film). Either one works. Next you should definitely watch Casper the friendly ghost. Love that movie.

Have you watched Cockneys vs Zombies yet? I am really curious about it, because I am a huge Shaun of the Dead fan and a major zombie film fan.
