The tower seemed to fly past me. Still wearing my armor, I was sitting in a train riding to the edge of the tower. Riding next to me was Sherlock Holmes. The awoken was dressed in a dark trench coat and has a deerstalker hat on. He was holding a strange skull we found.
“Why are you carrying that thing around with you? It’s a little unsettling” I asked the warlock.
“It could help us. Maybe answer our questions” he replied.
“How? Is a skull it’s not living” I said but Sherlock ignored me. The two of us went to the exit of the tower and walked to a nearby Warehouse. Guardian vanguard operatives where scattered all around. A eco walked up to us his green panted face covered in tech, probably a attempt to replicate facial hair.
“Sherlock Holmes what are you doing here.” The exo asked
“I’m a consulting detective, inspector Lestrade. Here is my ID” Holmes said pulling out a ID card.
“Is that lord shaxxs ID!” Inspector Lestrade exclaimed. Sherlock quickly pocketed the ID card and said
“Uhh, no it’s not. I’m a detective I’m here to investigate”
“This is a crime scene Not a playground mister Holmes.”
“Same thing aren’t they. I’ve helped you with cases let me help.”
“Fine, just don’t mess around” the exo said. With that we walked into the warehouse. The smell of death assaulted us. Shadowy goop was on the ground along with three bodies.
“There is three of them Watson. Brilliant.” Sherlock said before eagerly walking towards the dead to investigate. I heard some murmurs and whispers of “psychopath”, “freak” , and some “I wonder if he’s the murderer” and I wondered why people would think that of my friend, until I saw him walking happily towards three dead body’s with a skull tucked under his arm. The warlock crouched down next to one of the body’s investigating.
“Three guardians dead, one of each class, weird shadow stuff. What is the question here?” Sherlock asked.
“Who killed them” I said while inspector Lestrade said “what is this shadow stuff”
“Wrong and wrong”Sherlock said
“What is it then Sherlock?” I asked as the warlock put a sample of the weird stuff around us in a Petri dish.
“Where are there ghost? Not even a trace of a broken shell” Sherlock said, throwing the skull towards me and started getting up.
“Do you know who killed them” inspector Lestrade asked “at least how they died, anything.”
“Nothing.” Sherlock said briefly.
“But your a expert. You have nothing?” Lestrade said.
“Watson let’s go. We have um, investigating to do” Sherlock said walking out of the room. I just sighed and followed him.
“Why did you lie, you know exactly what’s going on.” I asked the awoken.
“Yes but the vanguard are annoying. It will take them weeks to solve this. It will be funny to see them scramble around without a clue in the world.” Sherlock laughed
“But you know what happened”
“Obviously. Did you see there vain, discolored and popping out. Poison, probably hive.”
“Was that taken shadow thing the poison” I asked
“Obviously not. The shadows where waste product” the detective said.
“Waste product? I don’t understand”
“All things that use energy give off waste product. Whatever killed these guardians gave off the shadows.”
“But how do you know what weapon. And that place was covered in shadow, what type of weapon would leave that kind of waste?” I asked.
“The ghost where missing. Come on Watson” Sherlock said then, picking up his skull and Began walking away. I just followed the warlock, knowing that someway this will solve the murder. We arrived back at Baker Street where Sherlock went to his lab. Before we moved in the apartment used to have a kitchen but Sherlock converted it to a lab. He uses this lab for criminal investigation but sometimes questionable stuff come out of that lab when the warlock is bored.
“What are we doing Sherlock?” I asked.
“I am examining this shadow. What your doing is up to you.” He said, getting out a microscope.
“It almost looks like a taken blight. What shadows do we know Sherlock?”
“Taken Shadow, shadows of yor, the shadow thief, Variks shadow.” The detective said. “This is interesting Watson. It looks like this substance is made of light, but it’s corrupted. I think I found out missing ghost”
“What next sherlock” I asked
“What do we know Watson. The murder was committed with a unknown weapon or poison. This weapon produced some sort of energy in the form as shadow. We still don’t know who or why.” The detective said.
“But how do we know the gun produced this blight. How do you know about this weapon at all.”
“Just a hypothesis my dear Watson. We need to know what killed the guardians and how so we can know who and why. But will you excuse me Watson I will be in my room. We have to think.” The detective said, picking up his skull and walking of to his room. I decided to do a quick search on the archives to learn more about theses dead guardians to no avail. They where just normal guardians, doing patrol for the vanguards. Not really the type with enemy’s, well enemy’s in the city anyways. I decided to go on a little walk, stop at the new Ramen shop nearby to get some food and maybe take out for Sherlock while he does his job.
Arriving back at Baker Street I unexpectedly found inspector Lestrade at our door. The exo was About to knock on our door when I said.
“Sherlock’s busy. I’m right here”
“Oh, hello doctor Watson. I’m here for Sherlock though.” The inspector said.
“Another murder?”
“Yes. Same as last time. Weird shadow stuff and everything”
“Another fireteam?”
“No. Just one guardian. Here doctor Watson, is the address. Outside of the city of course. I hope to see you and Sherlock there”
“I will tell Sherlock. See you later inspector.
“And you doctor Watson” the inspector said before leaving. As I entered 221b a strange smell assaulted me.

Edited by Warlock Holmes: 9/30/2018 11:23:52 PMSherlock” I called “are you here I brought ramen” Sherlock appeared at the top of the staircase leading up to our flat. His hair and robes where messed up and robes all messed. His eyes has a strange tint in them. The strange skull we found was tucked under his arm and a cane (that I obviously knew he had his sword hidden in it) was in one of his hands. “What happened to you. Never mind I don’t want to know. There was—“ I started before he cut me off. “Another murder I know. He told me. Let’s go at once.” He said “Ok, let me just grab something from the flat.” I said. “Never mind That. There was a murder Watson. The game must be played.” He said closing the door and walking me out. Again I found myself at a site of a murder. A hunter was dead in front of me in a abandoned hut not that far from the tower. The hunters body was lying face down, her gun seemed to be on the other side of the room. Black oozing shadow swirled on the ground, a swirl of light and dark like a taken blight. “Found dead. Probably a conflict. Who knows how long” inspector Lestrade said. “Now that we have a firm grasp of the obvious, let’s discuss how she died” Sherlock said. Attacker Came through the open window, attacking with a knife based on the rip in the hunters cloak. The hunter reacted harshly using a golden gun. It’s obvious just look at the scorch marks on the walls. Obviously the attacker didn’t die and shot the hunter right where I’m standing. Only twice due to only two bullet holes in the hunters chest plate. But it seemed that the shots killed her instantly. No other golden gun shots where fired and i don’t see a trace of the celestial nighthawk anywhere. And before you asked how knew I just observed. Happy inspector Lestrade” the detective said with a smirk on his face. “I’ll wait for your brain to process that inspector” he said and walked towards me. He then spoke so only I can hear. “I still don’t understand what he said to me. The riddle” he said. “What riddle? Who said this?” I asked. The detective confusing me even more. “Of the king i am blue and of the peasant i am red of the frog i am cold and of the dog i am hot instead what am i o’bearer mine” Sherlock said. “Blood. The answers blood. What does this have to do with the murder.” ““It has everything to do with the murder. Now blood, blood. There wasn’t blood. Why blood?” “The blood in the victim?” “Brilliant Watson, just brilliant.” Sherlock said, taking a vial and extracting blood from the dead guardian. Green liquid was mixed with the red. “Poison. Hive poison. How did someone get hive poison here. There is one place I know for answers. I need help though let’s go to temple.” Sherlock said “Sherlock explained what the hell is going on, who told you all of this!” I exclaimed. “It’s obvious O’ Dear Watson mine. He has been with me the entire time, and no it’s not you.” He said, lifting up the skull he was carrying. “The skull is talking!? How Sherlock” I asked “Have you ever Heard of a wish dragon O’ dear Watson mine. No come along we need to go to the grave. The worlds grave, not ours.”
part two. I don’t know if it’s good but whatever
Excellent once again. I particularly enjoyed the reference to the Ramen shop having just opened and the world's grave line at the end. Consulting with Ahamkara is a tricky business, I hope you know what you're doing, Holmes.
