Is there a way to acquire masterworks cores that is more efficient then the overpriced Spider Shop? Because these cores being needed to infuse things is not a very good system.
I am all for needing the materials to infuse armour and weapons, but for that to work effectively, we as the player need an efficient way of obtaining said materials. Planetary material, glimmer and legendary shards all work well, we can get these through a wide range of activities. But Masterwork cores seem to be scarce at best.
As far as I know, the only way of getting cores is either A. The Spiders overpriced cores for a stupid amount of shards for 2 or 3 B. those consumables that give you a single core from a boss C. I think dismantle exotics?
It almost seems like bungie doesn't want us to infuse our gear, this is specifically a problem for players like myself who adore older armour. I want to keep wearing FWC gear, but with the slow progression system, I can't keep my armour up to scratch. This forces me to constantly have a full inventory of randomly rolled weapons and armour that I only have because I have no more masterworks cores, effectively stunting my overall progression because my postmaster fills with rares/shaders and other powerful drops.
Don't get me wrong, I love the current rate of levelling in D2, but please can we get rid of these masterwork cores as a requirement to infuse.
Update: Reading the "this week at Bungie" tells me that they know there's a problem, so I thought I'd also suggest ways to improve upon the system. 1. Heroic public events should have a higher chance to give Cores. 2. Heroic activities gives cores first time completing. 3. Those consumables that have chances to drop core should drop more. 4. Reduce the spider prices for cores (don't have the price double)
