Having watched quite a few of the worlds first competition streams, I noticed that Whisper of the Worm was being used by pretty much every player during the Riven encounter. This makes sense, the weapon excels at dps during the stun phases and final stand and I expect a lot of teams to use it going into the future.
The question is, seeing as it's such a popular weapon, does this mean the guardian cannonically use WotW to defeat Riven? If so then Xol has to be feeling pretty good right now.
Just food for thought.

Edited by Trip Dering: 9/24/2018 3:18:31 AMWell I'm not too sure about that, but I am sort of disappointed that OUR Guardian is no longer THE Guardian - since the post-Raid cutscene just says "a team of six" now instead of "you" -went into the raid-. Techincally only the W1st team is now "THE" Guardian.

The weapons you use to kill bosses don’t become canon lol. Unless it was a requirement to kill the boss with a WoTW, which it’s not, then it doesn’t become canon. Just that you killed Riven.

Edited by Timewaster504: 9/25/2018 11:42:25 AMHe must be like, “do you realize how dumb you are, you are tricked into killing a dragon so savathun can have a wish, not only that, you use a gun that is literally strengthening a HIVE GOD!”

Clearly it should be the sleeper. Plz nerf so can be used in kenetic, elemental and power slots.

Does this mean every lfg post is going to require wotw? I can't stand that crap. It's boring and cheap imo. No one likes meta weps in pvp but pve they don't care so long as it makes something easier to do.

Group I did it with used sleeper. It seemed more reliable for stunning her to get the eyes to show. You can use primary weapons on the eyes and wart things and you can just do an extra cycle if dps is low.
-
Whisper is 100% unnecessary. Most groups shoot riven with a pulse. Only time they use whisper is to shoot his mouth for extra dps in the eye phase.

Xol was a weak disappointment, I don't get how Oryx was more powerful despite supposedly being a lesser being than the Worm Gods.

That’s determined by the developers of the destiny story not by gameplay

I don’t think canon goes this far, but it’s still a very interesting thought.
