Collections Tab
I have been playing Destiny since Year 1 of Destiny 1 and my biggest problem has always been my hoarding habit in games. I try to collect one of everything, I want a full set of every type of armor and weapon but Destiny doesn't encourage this type of play-style, they limit your vault space so you eventually have to make room for more stuff. When the "Collections" tab came with Forsaken I was quite happy. My vault was full and I was using the characters I wasn't playing on as mini banks, which were also full. When I saw the collections tab had everything I previously collected, I cleared out all three of my characters and vault only keeping my favorites. I had even collected a small bit of loot from Season 4 and with great luck managed to get 4 out of 5 pieces of the Dragonfly set. Well my smile quickly turned to a frown later on when I went back to the collections tab to try and collect some gear I deleted because I thought I could just re-buy it from there. My dragonfly set, which can only be obtained through a Steadfast Engram and those are only obtainable through real money or leveling up, wasn't allowed to be re-bought. I now only have my most recent piece. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF COLLECTORS, CHANGE THE COLLECTIONS TAB!!! Make it so everything has perks and anything re-bought from the collections tab will have them. Want those god rolls? Gotta go grind. Want the basic perks at power 10? Re-buy it. This seems fair. Up-vote if you agree

Bungie wanted to give players the ability to reclaim random roll armor as well, but they couldnt construct a working system in time for the release of Forsaken so that's why it says in the collections tab that random roll armor cannot be reclaimed. I think what should have been done is to have a "favorites" tab on random rolled armor (like the armor lock) that will save that specific perk set to your collections to be reclaimed.

11 RepliesI feel like it’d be best if they added the ability to store the roll of your favourite version of a weapon/armour piece in the collections and be able to get that roll from the collections whenever. It’s not like it would be OP to be able to get these god rolls whenever, because you’d actually have to get one in the first place. And if you find a better one in your travels, overwrite your previous roll and store the new one!

The best solution that maintains the spirit of random rolls but also prevents exploiting the system would be to set it so that the one you re-buy has the most recent roll you received on that item.

It’s not like we’re trying to grab game breaking gear here, sometimes people wanna grab another tiger spite or replace mismatched armor 😒

1 ReplyAs a so called collector you seriously didn't check before deleting things you wanted to keep? That is completely your fault. Is that the only reason you want the collectors tab changed? For eververse gear? Also the op really needs some spacing. I think having the option to repurchase a static roll of something you've found before would be cool. So I somewhat agree with you.

In my opinion I think there should be options available in the collections tab to purchase gear based upon the perks you have already unlocked... have it be; fixed glimmer cost to obtain the weapon, plus additional costs associated with the traits that you have unlocked so far... set the fee as appropriate to the quality of the traits (mats, shards, cores etc...) For example, I've probably unlocked all the edge transit perks by now, so I could purchase any roll I could desire!! Assuming a couple of things: the intrinsic perk, grips, sights and masterwork are fixed. Random rolls affect traits only???

Yeah I wish we could. Hopefully they just assign a single random roll (or even an intentionally sub-par roll) to each item, and call that the collections version for everyone. That way the system couldnt be gamed to get better rolls but would still let players get favorite guns and gear, but if they wanted an ideal roll theyd have to grind for it.

I believe whatever rolls you got the first time, that's what it should lock to, and we can repurchase to our heart's content. I understand Bungie not allowing you to rebuy stuff that contain random rolls. It would be like HoW all over again. Just stand on the reef re-roling gear for pennies.

I know what you're saying, and I agree that we should have access to year 2 gear with fixed rolls. But they did mention this several times before release. It also tells you in the collections tab and on every single item. The lesson here is to make absolutely sure you know what you're doing when you delete something. Still, I hope they hear these posts and change it and I hope you get your armour back somehow.
