raid teams are too specific with weapons and should let people use what they want!
I know I'm going to get backlash for this but, Its something bungie/ the raiding community needs to hear. raid teams are too specific on what weapons people bring into engagements The IKELOS shotty and many other weapons are ruining players raiding careers via players getting kicked/ removed from fireteams It's a game wide problem and now with the introduction of The IKELOS shotgun the game has been turned on its head players are being kicked for not having it. Open your eyes this is wrong and anyone who is guilty of this should just go hide in a hole because they are doing something wrong and should be punished for kicking people out of endgame content Its bad enough we have that many people in this community who would do such a thing its just sad that players are being ridiculed for not having said weapon. anyway ranting aside players need to stop kicking other players for no having other weapons because In D1 one of my favorite rocket launchers got nerfed because of this kind of stuff we should've learned our lesson community

The ikelos shotgun is a beast! I don't know why I stopped using it to be honest though

1 ReplyI get your frustration, as everybody would like to probably complete the raid. However, you cannot maximize the damage output on bosses or even the elites if you do not have these weapons and if one person doesn’t have these types of weapons, the boss will not go down, 100% guaranteed the boss will not die. You can’t bring a sidearm and bow along with an edge transit with the best possible weapon perks into a raid and expect to come out victorious. The ikelos shotgun is the best weapon to kill the taken knights quickly (or almost anything for that matter) and sleeper or whisper is the best for taking down the bosses at this time.

Their are weapons that "help" and that are "nice to have or more preferred dps", but as you said no weapon, aside from that specific version, is best to raid with. If your under light it makes sense,to an extent, but even then if you spec your self right you can even out damage heavies.

Also the Sleeper is an exotic quest that was released some time ago, like the quest is given to you as you progress. I’m confused as to why lots of people don’t have one.

I get your point, here is a counterpoint.... Form your own team and let everyone run what they want. If you are able to complete the checkpoints, more power to you, if not, you will know why people want gear for optimum dps.

Its funny to me that PvE people whine and complain about people using "OP'd meta weapons" in the Crucible. But only want people that have three guns on their raid team.

2 RepliesEdited by Soldierofpie: 9/16/2018 4:26:34 PMI get where you are coming from, but if your light level is below 540, you need the extra gun power, and it just so happens that using the ikelos and the sleeper/whisper can give you the dps to make up for the lower level. Especially for encounter 2. If you can somehow do 2+ mill damage on encounter 1 without sleeper or whisper, then spread the word.
