Let people choose to turn on/off the chance of joining a game in progress. Waiting a bit longer for a fresh start is something a lot of us wouldn't mind.
Also, once a team is down a player or two and CLEARLY getting stomped on, please don't add anymore players. End the match. What's the point of dragging out a one sided fight?
Thank you.
Edit:
One more thing. If you must drop a guardian into a match in progress, at least give them a full super upon landing. It would give the team that had been down a player a small boost to help try for a comeback.

It's a double edged sword.... If they allow a choice it would be presumed that some will choose to disable joining matches in progress. This will dilute the available pool of players available. So, in the best scenarios (players left or were booted by something not under their control) you will then penalize the remaining players by forcing them to play handicapped until the system can findsomeone to join the game. You say, well I will just quit if I see its already in progress and Im on the losing team.... Yeah you can do that, but then you risk being penalized yourself for leaving games. Perhaps they should have a power ranking system based on how many players there are. For example each team of 4 splits the power equally 25% each. When one leaves boost the other remaining 3 to 33.3%. If it drops to 2, then 50/50%. If one is left they become like the juggernaut with a 100% boost. If other players join back in then share the boost across however many players are on the team. This way when a team loses a man they are given a boost to the remaining players to make up for the loss of a team member.
