Hey everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a lore post but I’ve come back swinging with 2 at once. To find the other, “Cabal Command: Ranks and Legions”, check my Archive: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/217384398/0/0
Weapons:
Slug Rifle: the basic gun of the Cabal infantry, the Slug Rifle, like most other Cabal weapons, fires microrockets (Solar damage). It is single fire and close-ranged, but the armor-piercing rounds and shrapnel bursts are really what make it deadly, shredding armor and flesh easily. These weapons can be used in virtually any gravity level or atmosphere because they automatically adjust to environmental conditions. Almost all other Cabal weapons share these traits.
Slug Shotgun: a weapon wielded by Legionaries and Centurions that fires multiple rounds at once.
Projection Rifle: typically seen in the hands of Centurions, this weapon fires explosive Solar rounds meant to concuss and destroy.
Bronto Cannon: a 5-barrel cannon wielded by Centurions that launches a splay Void energy blasts.
Headhunter: a laser-sight sniper weapon wielded by Psions.
Heavy Slug Thrower: a large weapon wielded by Colossus that fires an onslaught of microrockets.
Slug Launcher: a massive cannon wielded by Colossus that fires bursts of Arc energy.
Cluster Missile: a barrage of target-seeking missiles deployed from the armor of Colossus. Red Legion models are flashbang.
Severus: giant cleavers wielded by Gladiators.
Magma Launcher: a flamethrower wielded by Incendiors that can spew several blobs of flames or a focused burst of fire that launches foes backwards.
Equipment:
Cabal Shields: all the Phalanx serving under the scouting legions on Mars use large, hexagonal sheets of metal for their shields from the same material as their ship hulls. These shields are able to stop most attacks without a scratch and cover almost all of their wielder’s body. Their heaviness and size reduce movement, but the Cabal aren’t agile to begin with so the difference isn’t notable.
The Red Legion Phalanx shields are an energy field shaped and controlled by a metal frame that can close up to allow free, unshielded movement or expand to defend large groups in a stationary mode. Like its cousin, this shield blocks almost all of its wielder’s body and stops most attacks in their tracks, but this has a weak point on the central metal plate that can be attacked to temporarily disable the energy field.
Jump pack: all Legionaries, Centurions, and Red Legion units (aside from Warbeasts) are equipped with a jump pack that allows for quick bounds across the battlefield over the heads of their enemies, quick evasive maneuvers, and even sustained hovering. Red Legion Psions are equipped as well, but with their smaller frames use them to dash quickly across the battlefield or to make long, low jumps.
Pressure Gel: found inside every Cabal uniform, Pressure Gel regulates the pressure inside the Cabal armor so that they can survive in different atmospheres with different levels of gravity and air pressure. The gel is combustible and is also used as fuel by the Cabal.
Energy shields: energy field projectors that protect the wearer’s body from attacks. Typically only seen on Centurions.
Scorpius: a stationary automated turret that fires on enemies. It likely uses the Battle Network as a way to pick out targets.
Battle Network: all Cabal gear feeds tactical information to their command. Weapons send data when they fire and make impact, armor and shields record vitals and atmospheric data and even the direction and damage dealt by incoming fire. All of this data makes the Cabal command structure amazingly efficient, allowing them to instantly respond with large troop movements and full knowledge of the situation at the first cue of an ambush or the slightest tactic change of the enemy. This malleability and spontaneity of their system has allowed them to keep up with even the Vex, who have prided themselves in adapting to and preparing for every scenario.
Mining Drill: a device that is dropped from Cabal carriers to drill into the ground in search of resources and most probably to help them determine the composition of whatever world the Cabal are occupying. Small drills function by burning a hole into the ground while larger models just plain old dig.
Injection Rig: a large device that implants itself in the ground, the injection rig forms an energy barrier around itself that keeps the burning heat it produces trapped so its effects are controlled. It is an intel gatherer of some kind and produces heat that the rig expels through its several vents, which double as rockets for flight.
Vehicles:
Interceptor: a ground-based vehicle that seats one and hovers low above the earth, Interceptors may have decent momentum but their horrible maneuverability and blockiness make them targets. They are, however, also well armored and sport dual cannons (Skyburner models fire one at a time and Red Legion fire both at once).
Goliath: the Goliath Tank is a hovering fortress, equipped with a heavy main cannon capable of obliterating a small bunker with one blast, a heavy Arc volley turret mounted on the main cannon, a set of machine gun turrets with standard micro-missiles on the front, and hatches that toss out small explosives. The Goliath maneuvers slowly on its four thrusters but can take massive damage before being destroyed. The Red Legion Goliath also fires volleys of target-seeking missiles.
Imperial Land Tank: a massive mobile base used by the Cabal while conquering territory that rolls on treads. Valus Ta’aurc commanded one of these vehicles and claimed territory on Mars with it as his base of operations. We do not know if they are armed with weapons or if their size varies, and I myself could not find if we have measurements on Ta’aurc’s Land Tank.
Harvester: this basic Cabal troop transport ship has a large box shape and only a single vulnerable rocket turret mounted on its underbelly. It can pick up decent enough speed to get its cargo through war zones and is also surprisingly agile. Hatches on the side of the ship open to release soldiers and it is too armored to be destroyed even by the more potent arsenals carried by Guardians.
Thresher: a Cabal fighter that sacrifices armor for speed and agility to compete with enemy light craft in dogfights. It has a rocket turret but can be taken down by enough heavy fire from ground troops.
Skyburner Fleet: we have seen Skyburner ships of various sizes, including that in the Dreadnaught Hull Breach and the carriers above Mercury, but have no measurements or other analysis.
Cabal Large Transport Ship: seen in the Red Legion fleet, these ships measure 1000 ft (304.8 m) in length and hold everything from Goliath Tanks to ground troops to parts for building bases in conquered territory.
Cabal Carrier: larger and also possibly more armored and battle-ready than the Large Transport Ships, the Carriers are also seen in the Red Legion fleet and measure 1300 ft (396.2 m) in length. They appear to share all the same functions and purposes as the Large Transports, although they have been seen deploying pods carrying troops as well as firing volleys of missiles where the Large Carriers have not.
The Immortal: Ghaul’s flagship, measuring 620m.
The Almighty: a planet-sized installation that tears apart worlds and uses their resources as fuel for a magnetic beam that destabilizes the cores of stars. The Almighty and Red Legion then leave while the star explodes and takes the whole system with it.
The Cage: a device built to envelope the Traveler in a containment field and then siphon its energy for Ghaul. When mobile its six prongs are closed, which give it a 3620m nail-like form, but when open to latch onto a target the Cage is measurable to small moons, making it the largest Cabal craft we have seen aside from the Almighty and the Leviathan.
The Leviathan: the ship Calus was exiled on, the Leviathan is ornately decorated and is built to consume planets, planetoids, asteroids, etc and convert their resources into nectar for the Emperor to drink in his wine. The centaur Nessus is able to fit inside the maw of the Leviathan with room to spare and the ship holds its own vast coliseum within its interior. It also sports a couple artificial stars (obviously much much smaller than real ones) for lighting on the outside of the ship. Many symbols of a serpent with a large triangular head are spread across the Leviathan, so it’s possible that the ship is designed to mimic a leviathan of Cabal mythology or an actual creature they encountered. The Leviathan once had its own fleet to defend it, but as far as we know it was destroyed; however, Calus has already shown that the Leviathan has plenty of means to rebuild what is lost.
Bases:
Imperial Land Tank: see description in “Vehicles”.
Firebase: fortifications serving as scouting outposts, beachheads for expanding their territory, and as stations of command and deployment. These bases can be small enough to hold only a platoon or large enough to house a warship with room to spare, and sometimes are composed of a collection of small fortifications rather than being a single structure. Some of these seem to spring up almost overnight, implying that the Cabal either carry these bases in large connectable sections within their warships or that they can construct these quickly and efficiently using their large numbers, strength, and work ethic.
Fleetbase: massive bases that may be able to house an entire fleet and serve as primary command centers and footholds for invasion. The only one we know is Fleetbase Korus, built by the Skyburners on Phobos.

My theory on how the almighty destroyers stars is that it acquires iron from planets like Mercury and superheated it into a gas or most likely plasma which is then forced through the sun's outer layers into the core and because the star can't generate energy from fusing iron atoms the star won't have enough energy to balance its gravity pushing in thus the star collapses...
this would make our sun turn into a red giant because our isn't massive enough...
Bump for later please

What about injection rigs and the cabal mining drill

I really enjoyed this, thanks!

Edited by Emurinus: 8/22/2018 11:18:38 PMThe Pressure fuel in their suits is known as Organogel (I can't remember the full name Asher gives it). Also, Ghaul isn't spelled like Ghual (unless this is a translation thing from a different language). Btw, do you plan to do this with the other enemy races, because these threads are better informed and organized than the actual wiki.

It’s dumb how cabal legionaries/phalanxes shoot ‘shotguns‘ like machine guns.

Edited by zNapSack: 8/23/2018 5:54:26 AMGood job! I like it. But I have a question. Two in fact. :) I understand how a pressure suit functions. That is, they maintain an atmospheric pressure within that is compatible with the human respiratory system and therefore I can only assume the Cabal pressure suit must be similar. Simply put: when a human being inhales the muscular diaphragm moves downward, thus allowing room for the lungs to expand as atmospheric pressure rushes in to fill the vacuum created by doing so. We call that inhaling and it's a autonomic response, although when conscious we have some control over it. For instance, we can hold our breath if we want. But eventually we'll take a breath as we have no control over it at the point. The autonomic nervous system simply overrides our willpower and is what keeps us breathing while we're asleep. That said, atmospheric pressure, be it greater or lesser than sea-level, is a factor. For example, at very high altitudes or in the depths of an ocean, there are significant factors that must be taken into account. For instance, at very high altitudes a pressure suit or pressurized cabin is required, as is the case in outer space. Whereas when underwater, as the depth increases, breathable air, which contains Oxygen and Nitrogen, becomes toxic at great depths and thus one must breathe a mixture of Oxygen. Nitrogen and Helium. Not something I've ever needed to do, although I did attend (and graduated) the Army's combat diver qualification course at one time. So, question #1: Although they wear space suits (includes a worn helmet), do Guardians need to breathe? As to question #2: Could you explain how a Cabal pressure suit regulates a gravitational field effect on a Cabal soldier? For example, Jupiter's moon Io is about the same size as Earth's moon and thus its gravity would be roughly the same, or about 1/6 of the gravity a Guardian feels on Earth. The force of gravity on an object (a mass) is expressed as its 'weight'. Hence, a Cabal soldier on Io would weigh significantly less than they would on Earth. As would a human being on Io. And on Jupiter itself a human being would weigh approximately 2 1/2 times what they do on Earth. (I looked it up and I'm surprised it's not more). So one must presume the Cabal would weight 2 1/2 times what they do on Earth as well, as would an elephant for example. But how does their pressure suit compensate for that? Inquiring minds...

I remember first seeing the new cabal shields and me and my friend both decided that the shields were...
legos
Edited by Onyx Guard: 8/22/2018 9:39:33 PMYou misnamed the vehicles. I'll go through some corrections really quick in the order they appear in your post. Edit: outdated names added for convenience. -The Majestic Imperial Battle Carb.
Interceptor
-The Boat that Don't Float.
Goliath
-[insert Cabal leader's name] Mother's Minivan.
Land tank
-The Lead Brick (you've seen how fast they come down. Can't tell me digging their own grave isn't a regular issue).
Harvester
-Thresher is okay, just no clue why it would be given that name. Shrike would sound cooler.. thresher just sounds like something that should be a ground vehicle. -The Short Straw (if ever I needed ships to be a distraction or forum a defensive fleet formation, I'd give them smaller weapons while possibly having them serve a similar purpose as my major fleet ships on a smaller scale and put them on the outside to soak up fire and repel fighter attacks. Some could be straight up hauling large scale shield generators to create a protective grid around the major fleet and capital ship, which would allow the heavy hitters to carry more ammunition for artillery while the small ships around them provided a boosted shield and turret platforms for protection.)
Transport
-Mr.Fister's Rocket in the Pocket.
Cruiser
-The Compensator
The Immortal
-Michael Bay directs: I Said We Need MORE EXPLOSIONS!
The Almighty
-The Ball Snatcher.
The Cage.
-Unicron.
The Leviathan
Missing most of the weapons. Energy Shield Headhunter Severus Bronto Cannon Magma Launcher Slug Shotgun Slug Launcher

You mentioned Interceptors fire one shot at a time, but there are at least 3 instances of what I call "v2 Interceptors" that have infinite boost and dual-fire.
-
Wait. Pressure gel is used in their uniforms but is also combustible enough that they use it as fuel? That’s just dumb. That’s like us using oil in our own military uniforms. I don’t care how useful it might be in some circumstances, you’re literally running around with something making fighting more dangerous for you.

slug rifle is just a poor mans bolter

Have you ever stood next to one of those guards before entering the Castellum? You'd need 3 guardians to hold that thing up.
