Riven and the Heralds of her Brethren’s

SPOILER ! / Theory / Speculations / Extended Riven and the Herlads of her remaining Brethren This is a speculation about the Nine and what major role they could play in Destiny‘s Future Do you remember the Destiny 2 Forsaken: Official Reveal Trailer ? Where Steve Cotton and Scott Taylor were talking about that the Dreaming City would be like a twin of both the Dreadnaught and the Vault of Glass and would be raised by the creator of the „Lord of the Rings“ Movies aka Peter Jackson. Remember the Lord of the Rings part very very very good because this might tell us who the Nine are and by who i mean how mighty they really are , you can look at the Video Link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9u4oyarcc4I at 6:30 they are mentioning this exact quote. Now we all want to know who the Nine are what they’re all about and how dangerous they are , i might have an answer for you guys. So the new Reverie Dawn Armor pieces in Forsaken hint on a Dragon under the name of Riven an Ahamkara Dragon who alot of people tought that their race was extinct. Since this most likely confirmes the existence of an living Ahamkara i went back and speculated about the Myth behind these majestic Wish Dragons and found stunning information. Remember what i asked you , about the Lord of Rings part to remember it very very very good because this plays a major role in this theory of mine if you Google Nazgûl and click the Wikipedia Article and read the first Chapter it will give you a hint on where Bungie took their idea from. It would be a crazy coincidence to mention a Dragon in Forsaken and Lord of the Rings without thinking about the Nazgûl and that there are nine of them. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9K7fueW4Bk&app=desktop Now if you watch this complete Video what can you make out of it ? I‘ll tell you. The Nine dark horses are chasing the white horse, it’s symbolic in a way and what is the white horse carrying on his back ? A guardian of the ring/light. The Nine dark horses are referring to the Heralds of the Darkness and the white horse is referring to the traveler.

  • SPOILERS: So at the end of the forsaken campaign the final boss is the voice of riven. A big fleshy ball that needed both light and dark to summon it. Since creatures of the nines kind are keepers of balance and exist to serve the balance, I would imagine that the final boss is the hive esque body part servant of riven, the previously mention ahamkara. So in the end I believe that the nine are beginning to think that the light is getting an upper hand against the darkness and sent Uldren to fix that. Based on all of these assumptions I believe that we may be stepping into the area of fighting face to face with the nine.

Now there is one last thing i want to mention about this specific topic, one of the developers said that The Dreaming City is like an Elven Homeland being attacked by evil referring to the Awoken as the Elves Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm3BmjIvUtk&app=desktop This is the last link you can figure it out yourself were bungie is getting their ideas from coincidence or fact ? I let you be the judge. Ok back to the actual theory and a quote worth mentioning is Mara Sov‘s Quote „Starlight was my mother and my Father was the Dark“. Is she referring to a deeper realitionship with the nine‘s leader or maybe even the darkness itself ? Is the Traveler a Female God don’t hate me for saying that lol ?! btw i know that Mara Sov is referring to Starlight as her Homeland and the Dark as the Black Hole/Gift Mast and the song were the nine draw their energy from but it can be interpreted in so many different ways so im not diving deeper into that. If the Nine aka Nazgûl’s have the type of relationship as Sauron had with his riders it would make alot of sense where this story could go. PS: Since the Raid is called „Last Wish“ maybe after we kill Riven and free her from being taken she has a last wish to free her brethrens who are being held in captivity by non other then the Nine or should i say the Nine, Riders of the Ahamkara Btw i like LotR but im not a super fan who likes to campare everything to do with it but it’s crazy how similar some things are we all know Bungie loves Norse mythology Greek Mythology and even Egyptian Mythology and Mythical Creatures. Again everyone thank you if you were reading this much love ! And in the end it’s just all for fun so don’t take it personal if you disagree with someone :) Small Bonus Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3HRwoOs2FU&app=desktop I feel like Saruman is the Queen telling us what the nine‘s intentions are. Again a reminder this is simply for fun im not saying all of these things are 100 % confirmed but it’s more of a speculation from where Bungie is getting their ideas and inspiration from. It is also worth mentioning that the Nine send Xûr to us every week to fulfill his duty but what exactly is his duty ? To fulfill wishes. That could also explain why Xûr is in possession of Ahamkara related Exotics.

    •
creator of „Lord of the Rings“ aka Peter Jackson.
Dude. How you haven't been eviscerated for this yet I don't know, but you really should edit that to J.R.R Tolkien, or clarify you meant the movies. Seriously, Tolkien and Lord of the Rings is serious business.
At least, the hyper-fans who act more like rabid dogs are, anyway.
• Inspiration can come from everywhere, but I’m afraid this is reading to deep into it. They probably just wanted to emphasize the fantasy nature and inspiration of the Dreaming City. Still, interesting theory.

        • <I don't necessarily believe that the Ahamkara and Nine are that closely related. But mainly that's because I want Riven to be the last... and I want them gone. However, I totally believe the Nine are evil. There's no -blam!-ing way they aren't.>

        • Super interesting theory. I always thought this was “Game of Thrones in space” but the LOTR theory actually lines up super perfectly... when the Traveler woke up, it was like Frodo trying on the ring for the first time... now the darkness is coming for us. So the traveler is a necessary evil to make us powerful, but we need to destroy it to bring peace back, like Frodo throwing the ring into Mt.Doom. Maybe that’s why Rasputin tried to destroy it?
