Time to move East across the world of culture, to look at the Japanese culture references. Enjoy:
Weapons:
- Uzume RR4 - Ame-no-Uzume-no-mikoto goddess of dawn, mirth and revelry in the Shinto religion of Japan.
- Susanoo - Takehaya Susanoo-no-Mikoto is the powerful Shinto storm god of summer.
- Hagakure - a practical and spiritual guide for a warrior, drawn from a collection of commentaries by the clerk Yamamoto Tsunetomo, former retainer to Nabeshima Mitsushiga, the third ruler of what is now Saga prefecture in Japan.
- Shingen-C - Takeda Shingen, of Kai Province, was a pre-emiment daimyō in feudal Japan with exceptional military prestige in the late stage of the Sengoku period.
- Jigoku SR3 - In Japanese Buddhism, Jigoku is a region of hell.
- kibou-AR3 - means “hope” in Japanese. Flavour text reads ‘it springs eternal’, a spin on the phrase ‘hope springs eternal’.
- Shinigami SR1 - named after the Japanese gods of death.
Characters:
- the worm gods - I want to make a link between the worm gods and the Japanese dragon Ryū. Equip your spinmetal hats. The dragon shares similar attributes with the worm gods. The Ryū are serpent like, associated with water and may grant wishes. The worm gods are obviously serpent like, down to the way they’re shaped and the way they move. They also have the ability to bless beings with powers as shown with the Osmium throne heirs. The worm gods were also trapped below the oceans of fundament and commune with the deep (water has the possibility to be deep hence the relation).

-
The Sugondese culture represented in the destiny Universe please
-
-blam!- Japanese culture I’m sick and tired seeing ugly armor based on samurai and Vikings or any type of old -blam!-ing cultures
-
This is great
but whether we wanted to or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the cabal.
-
Wouldn’t the Ryū be closer to the ahamkara?
-
the Japanese gamers are far more advanced than us here in the states
-
Being of the Oguri clan lineage. I must say sir I really enjoyed this.
-
Isn't the Jade rabbit based on an old Japanese myth as well. (Specifically the emblem in D1 due to it being found on the moon)
-
Would be great if the shinigami weapon was a badass sword. If you get it, you get it.
-
That's actually pretty interesting! :)
-
Hunter iron banner s2 ornament or is that Chinese
-
I'm surprised you didn't mention the iron banner armors
-
I’m a little surprised you didn’t include the quickfang. It is a curved wakizashi style blade and the lunge attack is reminiscent of iaijutsu
-
I'd call you a weeb, but considering how many cultures you covered before this, you're good.
-
Still no Celts. Just dangle a few potatoes and have the pub call tattoo, those in the local area will come runnin'. The fight that follows will draw out the rest.
-
Funny enough worms or wurms are dragons sometimes. It could be they're the same species only one is dark and one light. Either end of the spectrum has the ability to convert."Hence you shall drift".

I would say that the Ahamkara would be more like the Dragon Ryû, but other than that good post
-
Chubby, you should do one on Hindu culture. Apparently there is a few references that relate to it like SIVA and Ahmkara.
-
Wonder if there is any Nigerian culture...
-
Edited by IceApfel: 8/19/2018 8:12:32 PMI almost wanted to ad the myth behind the Jade Rabbit, but I’m pretty sure that’s chinese. Would have been really embarrassing if I did that. Man I wish we were taught more eastern culture in European schools.
-
Is there one for the Balkans? I keep seeing imagery of Macedonian and Albanian flags.... anything else?
-
Actually your pretty close but, Ahamkara would be the equivalent of the Japanese wish granting serpent dragons. In fact they are pretty much a one to one translation of those.
-
Wyrm gods and the Ahamkara are both based on that Chinese dragon that represents change or whatever
-
I have a copy of the Hagakure. If anyone's seen Ghost Dog with Forest Whittaker, it's the book he reads.
