ESCALATION PROTOCOL
Had to re edit the post body. Maybe it was a bit much for those who are easily offended.
But as far as EP goes, what are your thoughts on those players who seem like they messed it up in the end. Facing the 7th boss, its understandable that some dont know how to defeat it. But after a few tries, dont you think whatever you did the first couple times didnt work?
Do players play the game without using their heads think "maybe it will die if we just keep shooting it"
Somewhere along those lines you know.. or at least leave so another player can spawn into the server.
On another note, ive been spawning in and out to see what my chances are of seeing the same player. About 13 orbits till i saw the same player again.
On another useless side note, How do people actually set up the server, how would that work out?
Correct me if im wrong, 3 players keep spawning into servers till they see the same person?
Then out of all 3, each invites 2 more?
Is that how you peeps get 9 players?

Spawn in to an instance. Ask two blueberries if people can join and grab 6 friends two per group and voila. 9 man team

8 RepliesAs someone who has all EP weapons and armor etc and over 100 boss kills from farming my advice to you instead of aimlessly ranting on the forums about it is before you get to level 7, invite as many people who are doing the ep to a chat party. The time it takes to make and invite to the party will far outweigh the annoyance of not killing the boss as no one is co ordinated. Perhaps not putting the bare minimum effort required might help lol. Your team was clearly a random group but I’d say if you’re still looking for ep stuff this late into warmind then you are 1 of 3 things, casual/solo player, bad at the game yourself or new/returning to destiny because you got hyped by forsaken. There is no “oh I’ve been really unlucky with drops” after bungie changed the loot mechanics and lowered the light level of the last 2 waves.

Much easier to get a server. Just get a group of 6 and zone in. Ask the randoms that also spawn if they want to join. If so, have them invite the others.

It's pretty common for me to be playing and see my girlfriend emoting her ass off as a blueberry cause she landed on the same server as me. As for how to get three people in the same instance, it works the same way. If you know someone is on the same server as you, it's not hard to reload an instance over and over again and end up on the same server together. That's how you cheese a 9 player fireteam. You load into Hellas Basin, have a friend that you know is on the same server as you reload until they join your instance, then they invite someone to their fireteam, make them fireteam leader, and reload the instance again. As long as your instance is kinda empty, less than 5 people, the odds of them being able to join back on the same instance is the same. Once they join the same instance, all three of you invite two more people to fill up your fireteam. All in all, it takes about ten minutes. Important to note: while you are waiting for the third person to join your server, you and the second person should not invite anyone to join you two or start an EP up, giving the other players on the map with you a reason to stick around, because the more people in an instance, the lesser the odds are of someone new loading into it. 10 RepliesWell I do play this game a lot, but most of the time solo. Because of that I have never been able to finish an EP. I’m glad you shared this info because I didn’t knew, although I guess I would’ve figured it out pretty fast. Anyway, you can’t blame people for not knowing, it’s probably the first time that they encounter the last boss. I do understand your frustration but this one’s on Bungie. If they would allow bigger fireteams or matchmaking, the problem would be solved. I always get maximum 4 other people on board for the EP... Other people are doing other stuff. EP is great, it just shouldn’t be a public event.

1 ReplyWe used to be able to log into the same instance in about 15 minutes because we lived close to each other but that stopped after the last update. Now the only we can do 9 man EP is for someone with 2 xboxs in the same house. They can same instance in about 5 min twice while making other friends fireteam leaders. Terrible implementation IMO

Something to keep in mind. If you have more than 6 people on the server, 1 leaving because he doesn’t know or doesn’t want to try EP does not give you another player to spawn. I believe after 6 players, zero spawn into that server. Only way is to get 9 is the 3 fireteams of 3

wait you’re saying you are lucky enough to spawn into the glacial drift with people who are doing ep and are good enough to make it to level 7? lol, couldn’t be me. i did level 7 escalation protocol for the first time this week with 5 people from lfg and it took us a good 40 minutes just to get everyone into the same instance and actually start attempting

theres 2 ways. one involves everyone trying to meet up resets click on their console then tries to meet in the sam spot. the ither way is to load in by yourself and scope out players already there, msg them and invite to chat until you get 3 or more fireteams (in the chat is so much better) then once you have 3 fireteams then invite more ppl to join them through chat or from friends list. of course if yoy want 9 then 1 will be left out of chat, choose a player that knows whats going on so they dont inadvertantly mess it up. there you go.

Just had to deal with that. My first ever EP wave 7 and it took me 10 seconds to figure, "Sh[i]i[/i]t, those explosions healed him!"

I had it going with randoms. Smashed every level but when we got to the final boss it doesn’t seem to compute to the other players on the field that the thralls healed. It’s an easy boss but it seems you really should be in a party to explain this simple mechanic to people because most seem too dim to figure it out on their own.
