Let's take a quick look at the Masterwork core economy leading in to the Forsaken DLC. I have some questions regarding masterwork weapons that I hope you beautiful people can answer.
We got to watch Bungie masterwork a Better Devils during their live stream yesterday. After everything was said and done, it took 17 masterwork cores, a couple dozen legendary shards, and 12,500 glimmer. Shortly after that, he broke down the other two better devils in his inventory. When he broke down the lvl 4 masterworked weapon, he received 1 masterwork core back.
Masterwork lvl 4 : 1 Core to get to lvl 4 and 1 core received on breakdown
When breaking down Forsaken Masterwork weapons, are we getting back all of the cores that we had previously invested 1:1? What masterwork level will our year one gear be converted to, or will they remain under the year 1 system? If we break down a year one masterwork, are we still only getting between 1-3 cores back?
Bottom line... It's time to start saving up massive amounts of masterwork cores. Peace, guardians!
**EDIT:
The Better Devils in the stream started out with a lvl 1 range masterwork. There was no option to change the masterworked stat. Can we assume that we get to choose which stat gets the bonus? It would make sense with how expensive the investment is to hit lvl 10.

yeah - I am concerned about how this will work in the new economy - but will have to wait and see. Likely will have to pick and choose what we want to masterwork for quite a while into forsaken.
