Didn't know where to throw this up, but I figured this would be the best place. Addressing the elephant in the room, are paid carries legal and/or allowed as per Terms of Service/Use. It's been bugging me because people have already paid Bungie to play the game and no matter what your opinion is on the quality of the game, we can all agree that charging for a free item is a scumbag thing to do and leaves a very bad impression of the Destiny community. It makes new and veteran players have a somewhat more negative opinion of the game and to non-destiny players, it turns them off of the game. I've done some calculations and 15 or so people have already made $40k plus off of whisper and claymore runs. Would like a direct response from Bungie if at all possible but if anyone can shine some light on the situation it would be much appreciated.

Paid carries and account recoveries are against the EULA and TOS of the game. That being said, it would nearly be impossible to nail everyone who does it. Also note, that account recoveries are actually against the console's EULA/TOS so that would also potentially be a downside to it. The other downside is probably 85% of the people offering account recoveries and/or carries especially for Crucible are using illicit means to complete them. That leads to a flurry of posts here about every Wednesday for people who are 'innocent' who have been banned because they let someone else use their account and that person lag switched them to flawless.

I wonder why it bothers you? Paid carries have been there since D1, if it was a problem then they would have addressed it. Why would you care what they earn. Destiny is certainly not the only game that has this and in many areas of the world other than our its completely standard procedure. I just don't get why you give a shit!
