Is Whisper of the Worm a new weapon?
Also is Telesto a new weapon?
edit: This post is supposed to be satirical.

Both existed in D1. Telesto was released with Curse of Osiris, and Whisper of the Worm was first released three weeks ago. So, Telesto is not new, but Whisper is.

Whisper of the Worm is new to D2 (but is related to Black Hammer in Destiny 1) Telesto (a vanilla (D2) weapon), is a poor version of Telesto (D1)
