During faction rally events, players could have the choice to join a PVE only server or PVP/PVE server when selecting which planet to travel to. The PVE only server would remain the same as the current world. The PVP/PVE server would allow guardians of opposing factions to engage in open world combat, earning the renown of the enemy that is defeated. Similar to banking motes in Gambit, players can bank their renown at designated locations on each planet. This goes directly towards your factions overall score, which will determine which faction will win the event, as opposed to current system that is based solely on the amount of tokens earned. Combining the two systems could make faction rallies more engaging and feel less like the tedious grind it feels like now.

YES PLEASE!!! This would be so good. I don't think that it should have any unique mechanics, I just think it should be a lawless area. If the only change that they gave was that you could see others on your map, it would be perfect. Imagine just camping out near a popular area with a sniper, and taking out the noobs. Or having somebody draw enemies towards your camping position to make it so that you had to move. This could be so good! I think that the best way that they could implement this with the token system would be to have a lot of challenges and bounties surrounding it. Each planet would have a daily rotation of challenges and bounties, and it would vary up your play style. If the mode kept all of the original mechanics from PvP but made it a faction free for all, I would give Bungie my money. They would deserve it.
