Here is a image of planet naming convention someone made for No Man Sky.
I find it facinating!

edit: I would like to change it by replacing the "Direction" with the initials of my gamertag / the founder's gamertag.
edit 2: Also, I would like to add that "interesting planets" or planets that are wierd/unique like (https://www.pcgamer.com/i-found-the-most-dismal-no-mans-sky-planet-where-absolutely-no-happiness-is-allowed/) should be given unique names for example this planet should be called Sadworld, Unhappy planet, or Achlys.

When I first clicked this I thought you were suggesting to name them ‘cool’, ‘not cool’, and ‘I don’t care’
-
Plantey boi Icey boi Rocky boi Sandy boi
-
I'm gonna do snake mountain
-
My Left Nut
-
The way I did it was just a fancy-sounding word followed by a random Roman numeral.
-
If I ever play and find a grassy planet. I'll name it "Get off my lawn".
-
Game is trash.
-
That’s cool but I’m still going to name every planet after how I think it would feel if it was inside of my tummy.
-
I'm going to keep naming planets in my own arbitrary manner. Deusadiation Sickness Deus Chill Firestorm Apocalypse Hot Like Phoenix Deus Nukrawave etc.

Butts1 Butts2 Butts3 Continue pattern up to Butts99

When I made the mistake of pre-ordering No Man’s Sky and playing it two years ago, I named every planet I came across with vulgar terms in different languages. For instance, I named one of them “Tierra del Coños” as a display of regards to Sean Murray.

That’s cool. Etymology fascinates me, so this is definitely interesting. Though I remember naming things for shits and giggles. The planet I started on is Tartan CXVIII.

Edited by Pie: 7/29/2018 4:07:00 PMDjibouti Djibouti Apha Djibouti Beta Djibouti Gamma Djibouti Delta Djibouti Epsilon Etc, etc. Then we go with the double; Djibouti Sigma Epsilon. And triple; Djibouti Delta Gama Kappa. How to name systems tho 🤔

Neat sure but it's more fun when you use either something simple but useful (like naming a planet you found lots of erudium on "eridium factory") or just something silly to potentially make someone laugh. I doubt anyone is gonna remember what these mean.
-
It’s an interesting naming convention, although I’ll probably keep to naming my planets after certain comparisons or discoveries. Kind of like how the last planet I named when I played around release was a dangerously frozen planet that seemed to have held some life on it before. Ended up naming the planet Auriga.

Interesting, for sure, but what’s the point of being able to name planets if you aren’t going to have fun with it? That’s the way I see it, anyway.
