”There have been many tales passed down in the word of DarkSpire. One particularly interesting is about the Dance of Dragons, a ritual said to be performed once every two years. This ancient DarkSpire ritual can be observed at the heights of Draeko mountain. It is often associated with the passing of Instinct, the lunar satellite orbiting the world of DarkSpire, across the horizon until it is in the middle of the horizon. The lunar body then begins to dimly glow green, attracting the great dragon Draeko out of its cave. The dragon roars once, with great intensity. The roar is echoed across the lands of DarkSpire, and after a few minutes, Myst, Flammaetoris, and Skyestra accompany Draeko at the top of his mountain. The four dragons then begin to roar in unison as the lunar body glows brighter. The roar continues on until midnight, where Instinct glows a bright green. Once Draeko stops roaring, the dragons slowly begin to circle the sky, flying faster after every minute passes. After 20 minutes, the dragons are nothing but blurs, and the green light from Instinct shines on them. The dragons come closer, and closer, until they seemingly “combine” into one body, dubbed “Sanguis”. The new dragon is red and black, and it is significantly larger than any other great dragon. It only appears for one minute, before it dissolves into the four great dragons. The dragons begin to return to their nests, and Instinct begins to dim. No one knows why said ritual occurs, but I have my predictions. I have observed that once Sanguis is formed, Zhul-Gamma begins to emit low growls from his nest. I believe that Sanguis is formed to rival Zhul-Gamma’s immense power and territory. Unfortunately, I cannot explain why Instinct glows green, or how the dragons combine into one form.”
