If you start a strike, heroic or regular, you get matched into a team. And being a team means working together, not repeatedly trying to run past all the enemies while the other two work their way through them, and dying, leaving the other two to kill all the enemies while you wait to respawn
Seriously, i've had 5 strikes today where someone kept trying the "mad dash" tactic. If you're there at the start of the strike, you shouldn't be ending it with less than 30 kills while i've got over 170
(Edit: the point i'm trying to say here is pull your weight, and work with your team. Don't be some idiot that runs off by themselves, dies without even reaching the next checkpoint, waits to revive, and then repeats that process multiple times in a single strike. It's basically the equivalent of sitting in the back doing a dance emote while the other 2 players are killing their way through
-
No. I will skip Exodus trash everytime. :)
-
Maaaaaan no one is going to play legitimately if the rewards suck and we've done the strike a million times. Add score cards with good rewards, add fun mods, make the strikes worth something and I'll kill as I play them. As the stand now I'm rushing through them to get done.
-
I’m alright with another player rushing through and pulling me to the end because I find the rewards boring and pretty much useless. What I have a problem with and where I agree with you is when the player running ahead is not as good as they think they are. It’s like they’re rushing to their death. It actually slows the entire strike down because the other 2 have to pick their way through a 3 player activity.
-
Enemies have families too.
-
You seriously took time out of your life to post this? Seriously?
-
Why I keep saying there needs to be a matchmaking filter for strikes.
-
This is a 50/50 complaint... People complain about rushers just bum rushing through strikes.. and then people complain about people being too slow. If you are solo and your team is playing the strike, play the strike. If you are solo and your team is rushing, then rush. But dont be the only one doing one or the other. There is no reason to make the strikes hard or horrible for other people.. unless you just want to be a total ass.
-
Eh, it depends on the strike and modifiers. Either of the mercury strikes it fine to run forward as long as you're sure you can make it. I never run ahead during blackout or grounded. If you're a ps 4 player and remember echo chamber, you remember how painfully slow waiting for randoms could be.
-
I recently got matched up with one of these guys. Runs forward, dies. 3 times in a row. The other random and I were close enough on his third death that I made sure I got close enough to his ghost that he thought he was going to get a revive. I shot a few enemies as they approached and then just stood at his ghost munching popcorn and testing my Impatience emote out. The other random joined chat and was laughing so hard that he died. I ran over, immediately revived him, ran back and popped more popcorn. Wasn't long before we had a knew guy join our adventure. If both randoms lurch forward and obviously want a speed run, hell yeah, let's go! If one of them hangs back, I might go forward, I might stick with the guy in back. It just depends on my mood. If you run forward and rapidly die twice in a row, don't make a third attempt if I'm around.
-
When i die twice at the boss without being my fault i rage quit
-
Thank you!
-
The milestone (if you still need them) is only 3 strikes. What the hell made you play 5 strikes?
-
Don’t really understand this — most areas are gate locked until the ads are killed. The “speed run” usually happens in the public sectors leading up to the strike and everywhere in between.
-
So what if theteams goal is to speed run it, i guess than you would be holding the team back
-
The amount of kills you have don't affect your rewards and the people who just run past everything make a good point, why kill everything if it doesn't keep you from advancing? Maybe if Bungie got creative for once, the person with the highest amount of kills could have a better chance of a catalyst dropping or just getting better gear, maybe a better chance of an exotic that will actually help your light level go up.
-
I have only really had an issue in the infinite forrest. I just can't keep up the sprint to the end, and I won't. My titan wasn't built for that shiznit.
-
I don't like that situation either, I prefer to play the content at a decent pace. To me it feels like it runs smoother and is actually quicker when all three work together, no waiting on respawns, rez's, or wipes. That's why I LOVED strike scoring in D1, it kind of encouraged teamwork in my opinion. I feel it would even go further to encourage team play if within strike scoring the rewards would increase in qty and quality the higher you score as a team.
-
Its always hilarious when arrogant pricks try to tell others how to play a game.
-
Here's the sad part. I rush through strikes because there's no point in killing the adds that don't matter, and I still get most of the kills and orbs created probably 95% of the time.
-
Some people have run the strikes enough to know how to get through them quickly and efficiently. If I’m grinding strikes I won’t waist 20 min to kill adds with my team. If I die, I die mistakes happen.
-
But seriously tho. I’m definitely one of those people who “mad dash” thru the strike, especially since I’m grinding for these non existent catalysts. I’m not about to sit here and waste my ammo on enemies when I can easily just skip it and move on to the next room. Like that one mercury strike where you use your sparrow to hop the bridge. I run right past those enemies, jump the bridge and hop on my sparrow lol. Stay mad
-
If my team can't play efficiently, I'm out. If my 2 randos die 3 times each in the first 30 seconds, I'm out. Working as a team doesn't mean, put up with 2 other people's shit. If my times being wasted, let someone else matchmake in. I usually do them with my clan mates, but sometimes I cant.
-
YES. I can't stand the speed runners and it's seemingly what I now get 80% of the time. If I bother to stick with the strike then what I do is not even bother to revive these people. It blows my mind that these people play a game to not actually play the game. I understand wanting to be efficient yet skipping 70-80% of the gameplay is insane to me. I actually play strikes because I WANT to do them, not just run and jump past everything to go collect my tokens. I view Destiny 2 as something to enjoy, not as a job which I guess these people view it as. These speed runners may think they're doing everyone a solid by speeding it up yet it's not enjoyable. I wish the speed runners would just find some friends and go speed run it with them rather than assuming the randoms they are matched up with want to deal with that bullshit. Oh and it's almost always just the one speed runner so not like it is case where I'm the lone one wanting to actually shoot enemies and play the strike. It's too bad there isn't a way to have the speed runners have their own match making and those who actually want to play the game have their own.
-
This goes the other way too though. If I'm dashing through and end the strike with more kills than you, you're a douche. Strike matchmaking is awful. We're not a team. We're just a bunch of assholes, stuck with each other for 10 minutes. As far as I'm concerned, any blueberry is just in a strike to soak up some bullets, and maybe spit a few towards the boss. If they can't hack it, f(_)ck'em. I'll get it done and get the f(_)ck out.
-
I'll run past everything and wipe to bring the slowpokes up with me 😂🤣
-
That’s just how they play, not everyone is wanting to take it slow
