Still Upset About Xol

I still can't believe how horribly Bungie did with Xol. A literal Worm God, a creature older than the Hive that made Oryx who he was, one of the most powerful creatures ever known, potentially defeated by a single guardian who just shot him a bunch in his glowy mouth. I love the Hive and their lore and the Taken King was by far the best expansion and set the bar so high for how expansions should be and how story should be done, and while I understand Warmind wasn't to the same scale as Taken King and shouldn't be compared to it, it's more the story that upsets me. In Taken King, you go through the whole story to fight Oryx, and once you beat him in the story, he isn't truly gone and so you're not done yet. Along with the other things you need to do with the Taken throughout the solar system, you still need to go and finish Oryx for good. But you don't just kill the leader of the Hive by shooting him. You have to travel to his realm with 5 other guardians and fight through all these difficult obstacles and and do these complicated mechanics to complete a difficult boss fight to kill the Taken King. And it is satisfying. One of the greatest things in all of Destiny. Xol? You do like four story missions and shoot him a bunch and he's dead. No raid, no other guardians needed, no mechanics. One of the Worm Gods that gave Oryx his power and are some of the most powerful beings in the universe is one of the easier boss fights in all of Destiny. They didn't want to save him for a raid or anything like that, so they let you kill him with little difficulty. Maybe they wanted to make you feel like you accomplished your goal by killing the main bad guy and Rasputin returning to power, but it was more like a boss fight that was way too soon and too easy and a cutscene that would be cooler if he did something after instead of giving a speech and then doing nothing because the story's over. Oh, and I won't even start with how Nokris was a throw away character. Gameplay wise I'm fine with Warmind and it was certainly better than Osiris was, but I'm very disappointed with the story considering how much I love Hive lore.
