Seriously, either the gun can't kill quick enough for someone to slide away with a sliver of HP, or the gun loses out at range to graviton or vigilance wing. The gun needs a serious buff... heck all scouts need a buff. They don't do enough crit damage to be rewarding for a good shot. 3 shot kill scouts were fun in D1 even if we didn't use them much or they weren't meta. I loved them. This? 4 shots to kill a guardian that can heal somehow is just painfully too slow.

Stop using it then

If you know how to use the gun, it is a 3 shot kill. 2 body + 1 headshot = death. I love the JR - it takes me back to my Halo 3 days of 4 tapping with a BR.

Edited by meatballsublime: 6/25/2018 1:42:32 PMI'm about 150ish kills into my Jade Rabbit catalyst upgrade. Here are some thoughts for my fellow JR-using guardians: - More assists. While using Jade Rabbit, my kill vs assist ratio has leaned much farther into the "assist" side, since other guardians are able to clean up faster than the rate of fire for JR allows. - Patience is key. You are right that you can get out-gunned at scout ranges by pulse rifles, especially GL and VW. The best thing to do is realize when you can't win the gun fight and leave the engagement or reposition and try again. Don't stubbornly get yourself killed. Play smart and use cover correctly. - Always think sniper-range. Because it's is so easy to get outclassed by GL, always pick sniper lanes as your preferred position. Make sure you can duck into cover quickly. Never be out in the open. - Have a short-range weapon as your secondary. I always run Hero's Burden (the IB submachine gun). Royal Dispensation II and Mob Justice are good submachine gun alternatives, too. However, just whatever weapon/class you prefer. You just need something to deal with close engagements, because JR is going to get you killed. - Inconsistent accuracy. This is the case of most scouts in PvP. Be prepared that there will be times when your bullets do not register as precision or don't register at all. Sure, flinch can be a factor. However, even without taking damage and flinch is off the table, your bullets will baffle you at times. You will have other guardians run away with 1% health and you will be unable to land that final shot for seemingly no reason. I don't know of any other weapon type that has this issue. - Jade Rabbit still needs a buff. I think anyone who gives JR a real shot will still come away saying it's disadvantaged against almost anything else. The catalyst's bump to stability (and nothing else) is a bit of a joke too, especially when you compare it to GL's catalyst (with a major range boost and Hidden Hand added).

I'm using jade rabbit to get the 250 kills for the catalyst. I hate having to camp in the back of the maps to get kills. I feel like I got to play really passive to do well. Sometimes I'm so stuck on getting the kills quickly that I forget to play the objectives. We don't have maps that cater to scouts.
-
You need to be a lot farther away if you want to compete with Jade Rabbit in PVP. I was getting plenty of easy kills with it even before I finished the catalyst. The higher TTK is true though, most scouts have a higher TTK but its because you're supposed to play at a range where your opponent has a very difficult time getting optimal TTK, where for you it's easy. If you want to run a scout, you're gonna need something to fight back if they get closer, and if they are always too close don't even use them.

Back up. If your target isn’t half a map away, you’re too close.
-
It should be a 3 tap if you land 2 body and 1 final to the head plain and simple(using the Intrinsic). If your hitting all percision hits than it should take 4 or your only landing body than 5-6 based on opponents Resilience but the fact that the perk seems nonexistent
-
The sound is really unsatisfactory
-
Its really not. I've had success with it. U cant out shoot a graviton lance. So duck behind cover. Strafe more. Play the longest range angles. The gun can certainly get a buff in my opinion though. Also jade rabbit requires a higher skill ceiling to use. So choose ur battles wisely and make smart decisions.

I used to think Jade Rabbit in Destiny 2 was still a decent weapon, and I knew it wasn't as good as it used to be, but I won't be able to use it again after playing Destiny 1 yesterday. I played a game of Control and all my shots landed where they were supposed to, it 3 tapped so it could compete with snipers and hand cannons, had 11 shots in the mag, and overall felt like a high impact scout rifle should. Jade Rabbit is another weapon butchered to fit the style of Destiny 2, but it is nowhere near as bad as Destiny 2's version of Suros Regime...
-
Top tip. Don't.
-
I think it its actually good. If you have really long sidelines you can outgun GL. That said all high impact scouts should kill with 3 headshots.
-
Agreed. I gave it a go, but I've put it back in the vault. I use my Nameless Midnight instead. The Rabbit is crap at this stage. It should be a 3 shot kill considering the impact on it too.
