In D1, a new exotic dropping gave a sense of accomplishment, and when you completed your exotic collection, Life was great.
Now in D2, I gotten so many exotics that I’ve just started deleting them without a second thought.
I really want to actually feel something when I get a new exotic and not just shrug and delete it for legendary shards. It makes the game a lot more fun to grind for an exotic that you really want and finally get it.
I hope that they decrease exotic drop rate in a patch soon.

Rarity was PART of it. But most of the excitement for D1 exotics was because you had just entered into the realm of the Gods lol. Once you got Gjallarhorn, Icebreaker, Vex Mythoclast, Bad Juju, Zhalo Supercell, etc, you were in the God Tier of weaponry, esp in Heroic content with Burns. It was a new type of fun, where you felt like a super hero for real. D2 exotics.... mmmm.... not-so-much.

Agreed.. It really sucks that the casuals made this game so watered down that everything is so cookie cutter and is just handed out like candy. I have all the exotics available in the game.. In D1, I am still missing exotics.

Umm no...for that idea to make sense the majority of the exotics need massive buffs first.

LOL! exotics were pretty easy to get on D1. "VoG / Gorgon chest / add brose_one for CP."

I agree but will say it has been a lot better since launch. It seemed like I used to get an exotic about every 6 drops. Not quite as many now, I still agree though way to frequent. I thought that about legendaries for a while also.
