I'm really disappointed in the catalyst for the Sunshot. I grinded FOR HOURS hoping this thing would have noticeable recoil reduction (since it boasts a massive stability/range buff).
>>>And before you start; I dont care if its a "pve" weapon in design, a gun you grind for for that long deserves glory in the Crucible.
So first things first... big surprise, it still kicks like a horse!
The catalyst should have shaved the recoil in half/percentage, or at the least an impact increase . Aiming down the sights/ field of view is also awkward and how it kicks up covering your mark easily ruins a 1v1 duel. Guns like Better Devils, which is also known for noticable recoil, are far easier to control.
Only way this gun would be viable is if I stack Energy Weapon Recoil mods on a Hunter (the only class that can stack three) & I main a Warlock..
You would think something that cost you 28+ hours of grinding would be more inticing and put it up there with other mid range meta-weapons.

Im willing to bet ur aim needs a buff.

Or you could just learn the guns recoil pattern and get good with the gun? It’s really not that hard to get used to the recoil for sunshot

I'm a massive enthusiast for the sunshot, and I'm just saying this but the weapon is noticeably better. A handcannon is supposed to kick even if it's a little, this one is no exception. When in concept, you're firing condensed explosions instead of bullets. Unless you're wanting handcannons to be the be all end all best guns like they were for a time in destiny 1, I would say the range bonus is where this gun should be at. Last thing sunshot is a dirty gun when you use it in its INTENDED ranges and encounters in the crucible not trying to snipe across the map or go only god mode with it. My best advice for you to help you is get the feel for the gun hell use it only exclusively in PVE or practice matches with your friends in custom games so you can see what works and what doesn't. P.S. I will add this that Crimson is arguably better, if not the best handcannon completely, but it will most likely get nerfed. Last thing, yes I wouldn't mind a buff to one of my most favorite exotics in Destiny, I'm just stating it's in a good place after the catalyst. :)

Agree. I don’t want the only viable weapons in the crucible to be the meta weapons. All weapons should have a fair shot.
-
10-12 shots in the mag + reworking Recoil
-
I completely agree. After grinding for 30 hours to get this i am extremely disappointed. This weapon needs a buff not only to recoil, but to its Ammo capacity. Especially since what i passed up was the Gravton lance with hidden hand ... Such a R I P
-
It definitely needs to hit harder.
-
None of the catalysts do anything. Just a pointless grind.
-
Its niche is pve, where currently its immensely fun and strong to use, especially with solar singe
-
-
Its not that great as a PvE weapon either. Its only use is to destroy low level adds.
-
I agree, hopefully it's a bug and they fix it because all that added stability seemingly does nothing. Hopefully enough people make noise about it...or even just the right people and bungie have another look at it because as you say the recoil is what kills the potential of this gun. That and the tiny magazine.

You would think something that cost you 28+ hours of grinding would be more inticing and put it up there with other mid range meta-weapons.
Yeah. That's a concern. The faction rally catalysts are such a pain to get that you need to actually rearrange your life to do it. Something that requires this much time and effort (and boredom after a while) needs to be REALLY good. If not, there's no way I'll do it a second time. I suppose the good news is that after this event, the reviews will be in on all three catalysts, and we can know which ones are most effective.
