If you go to the lost sector in the upper left corner of Trostland, go through to the open area at the end when you fight the fallen go along the left side of the area. It's an EXACT copy of Memento from D1! The busted up ramp leading from the old zone C, the hallway with the file cabinets, even the sniper ramp on the outside of the building is there! The outside architecture is the same, and the ABS Kastner sign is even there.
It's definitely not a pvp map, but I think it's extremely cool that Bungie threw this in there as a little easter egg. If anyone has seen another area like this I'd love to hear about it. I posted a video on Youtube showing the area. What do you think? Btw I have side by side comparison pics available.

Have we found Widows Court yet ?
-
In literally any other game in the universe, none of you would be calling out the developers on recycled content. Just because of the stigma Bungie has, everyone feels the need to do so.
-
People calling it "recycled"... Umm...It makes sense that a pvp map that was in the EDZ would in fact BE in the EDZ. How does that make it "recycled"?
-
It's certainly a cool memento for all the D1 players....
-
Has anyone noticed how the edz was originally in d1? I swear i saw a vidoc of it back in 2014
-
So cool, great find man.
-
I genuinely never noticed this, good eye.
-
Weird nobody said anything about this before
-
fam this is old news lmfao
-
Most already knew memento was in the edz or you just surprised you found it?
-
Edited by DaMidniteHour: 6/8/2018 1:10:25 PMSo, does this prove that the EDZ was originally supposed to be in D1? EDIT: And does this prove that Bungie is purposely cutting old content to be sold later?
-
Edited by RapidMoss18: 6/9/2018 2:10:29 PMAlso the past and present vex from CoO are just exact reskins of the vex from atheon.
-
That’s genuinely well spotted.
-
not surprised by these lazy a**ed incompetent, incapable bungle monkeys.
-
How did i never notice this
-
Recycled area* not Easter egg. Bungie is extremely environmentally friendly with all their recycling. Say what you want about their terrible development strategies but you cannot accuse them of not recycling.
-
More Likely an Easter egg, it would be more effort just to change the old map than to make a new one. Cool though
-
Wasnt that map located in the EDZ? It only makes sense that it's there still..
-
Easter egg or lazy af development? Perspective is a fickle mistress.
-
Edited by Octopus: 6/9/2018 9:12:00 AMto anyone calling it an easter egg https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/theslenderman/images/9/92/You_are_stupidly_funny_to_me_human.jpeg/revision/latest?cb=20130317131007 lmfao^^ wear the luke smith badge with.....pride? hahaha^^

Also, off the cliff in Trostland, you can see what might be Widow’s Court in the distance.
-
It's just a grouping of assets called a "brush". A scene editor like in Unity can place multiple instances or you can paint a repeating pattern of assets with it. Don't think this is an easter egg.
-
Asset reusing or just your mind trying to match patterns of new stuff to already known patterns …
-
Haha. Did you just notice this now? There are many more maps, from which some peaces are snapped from D1.
-
Lol the whole place is probably cut content from the first game
-
It's not an Easter egg, it's cut out content from d1 that got used for pvp and then decided to use it as it was intended.
