So next year at my school they are demand that we have clear backpacks for the school year. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BIG CLEAR BACKPACK! Also they are adding metal detectors at my school and you’ll have to be pat down.
It’s mentally -blam!- and guess what else! My friend has diabetes and he has his electronic pump and if he goes through that metal detector it’s fried and he could die
#dumbassSchools
and the metal detector is going to go off on almost every kid cause they all have phones!!!!
Also the clear backpack ain’t so shot cause we can still take duffle bags (for spots) and binders to school and some kid can just put a gun in there (not to mention the metal in the binders)
Also for the past 2 years plastic guns have been advancing and right now some kid could take plastic smg and bullets in their duffle bag
Also that’s not gonna stop some drunk man saggin his pants double smging up my school or any school for that matter. The law doesn’t stop people the police do and police response times are 10-30 minutes
The news is particularly to blame for the sudden 400% increase in school shootings because they just blow it up and that puts the thought into the peoples head and that causes people to do it. Just like tide pods they increased tenfold right after the news blew them up

And my final point is that the chance of dying in a school shooting in the U.S is less than 000.0000001% you are more likely to die by a fricken vending machine
So what do y’all think on this topic?
I think it’s stupid
-
I mean, you could just.... *cough* implement stricter gun laws.... Works pretty well here in Canada
-
I’d move
-
Well don’t have to care about all that crap anymore since I’m done with school now
-
1. Your friend can go through a different line that doesn’t need a metal detector 2. The police in the front can stop a school shooting by A. being there and reducing response times, and B. stopping people with guns from shooting up a school from the front
-
Can’t believe more schools don’t already have them. And it’s for everyone’s safety. It won’t kill anybody lol.
-
Damn. Was gonna suggest putting body armour vending machines in schools.
-
You think ITS stupid?
And my final point is that the chance of dying in a school shooting in the U.S is less than 000.0000000001%
1 in 10 billion? There haven't even been 10 billion Americans in the history of the USA. I'd be interested in where you got your statistics.
-
There's no such thing as plastic guns. I was around when the Glock 17 (the boogeygun that started the whole mess) was introduced. It had a pound of steel in it, and would not have passed a metal detector. I'm sure they'll make whatever safety concessions are necessary for your diabetic friend. But the clear backpack thing sucks. I'd be mad if my privacy was being taken, too.
-
It’s a way to try and stop a shooting without looking at banning guns out right. If it stops even a single shooting it’s totally worth it to. Even if it doesn’t it’s worth a try. As for your friend who you say could die from being scanned (don’t get that) if that’s true then an alternative will be available for him. One of those wand things probably.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BIG CLEAR BACKPACK! Also they are adding metal detectors at my school and you’ll have to be pat down.
Calm down, Padawan. Clear backpacks have existed since at least the 90s. We had them in middle school (1995-1998). We had metal detectors right after the Columbine massacre. I am surprised that every school district didn’t have these since my district was ridiculously small and poor.
It’s mentally -blam!- and guess what else! My friend has diabetes and he has his electronic pump and if he goes through that metal detector it’s fried and he could die
#dumbassSchools
and the metal detector is going to go off on almost every kid cause they all have phones!!!!
Those would not go through the metal detectors.
Also the clear backpack ain’t so shot cause we can still take duffle bags (for spots) and binders to school and some kid can just put a gun in there (not to mention the metal in the binders)
The backpacks would be inspected. Them being clear just speeds up the process. As for he duffle bags, I don’t expect those to stay around as they are not vital. I did not have one, and I did not know a single person who had one.
Also for the past 2 years plastic guns have been advancing and right now some kid could take plastic smg and bullets in their duffle bag
Bullets would be detected and despite the advancements in plastics, there is still enough metal in guns to set off a detector on moderate settings
Also that’s not gonna stop some drunk man saggin his pants double smging up my school or any school for that matter. The law doesn’t stop people the police do and police response times are 10-30 minutes
Then you need a detachment on site. Just like tide pods they increased tenfold right after the news blew them up
To a degree, I agree. Edited by TexasJedi_705: 6/8/2018 2:45:51 PMIf a drunk is firing two SMGs at the same time near your school, 1. How the hell did he obtain them, they aren't all that common. 2. Drunkenness+lack of accuracy while firing two automatic guns=not being able to hit the broad side of a barn from inside the barn.

I was about to say lol, Corprals corner or some other gun channel, showed them hollowing about books to hide -blam!-in AR15 parts
-
but what if the gun is clear
-
That’s what you get when you stage a walkout. You wanted change, this is what you get.
-
Ok clear backpacks are a bit much. People might be carrying private things they don't want others to see in there. The metal detector is fair but if it does what you said it does to your friends medication he needs to say something about it.

Have you ever gone through a pre-flight screening process? Ever been in your local City/County building or Courthouse? If so, you have had to go through the exact same processes that you are so fearful of, and you're being rather ridiculous about it. You're friend isn't going to die from it either. They have safety precautions in order to screen people with all manner of metallic implants or medical accessories. THEY ARE TRYING TO KEEP YOU SAFE! You should be thankful that they are being proactive about it rather than wait for yet another sociopath copycat wannabe famous potential murderer comes into your school. I'm sure the clear back packs will be widely available before this next school year begins. Profiteers, I mean vendors are out there probably making them now. There again, that's why you're in school. You're showing that you still don't know much yet. As far as vending machines, the only reason they are detrimental to anyone's health is because they're stupid. Case in point, 2 years ago I was dropping son off at school, and could see into the glass doors of the school, where a couple dumb morons were ramming into and tipping a pop machine trying to steal from it (already had 1 or 2 out of it). It could have fallen on them, and they would have paid a big price for being idiots. I called the school office and told them to review their video logs of the hallway and time. The kids got suspended.

ban schools
-
I have had two schools in my area shot up last year within a week of each other so clear backpacks and metal detectors don’t seem so bad to me
