This stuff is exactly why Bungie went with 4v4, among other reasons, and a slower time to kill. Better overall connections with less players to match. Slower time to kill can lessen the impact of slower connections. But everyone wanted 6v6 back! This is exactly what happened every Iron Banner in D1 and all those matches people said green bar connected opponents are lagging. More people play during Iron Banner just cause it's Iron Banner and the infrequent players with bad connections come out to pull host.

Your internet is the problem, you have way way Waaayyy too much bufferbloat and with a low upload speed like that it's an issue.
-
Your internet is not the problem. The connection of those you face is. If another player you are matched against has wifi connection from his cell phone hot spot then he will lag and as such from his end he has shot you 99 times with the anvil and on your end by the time anything registers at all it is just you being dead. Bungie took out the connection readings that we can see in the game which was their way of ending discussion of lag in the game. Must have worked because you see it talked about much less even though it is as common as ever. If we could see the connection levels of those we are playing I am sure the crucible would be even much less popular than it is and that is a tough thing to say with how poorly most players feel about it just due to the poorly designed sandbox.

Its not called double standard. Its called latency. Commonly called lag.
-
The tether issues you are having is from a difference in skill and opportunity. Using a tether in a 1 on 1 isn't going to be the same as using a tether in a 2 on 1 or 2 on 2 in your case. The other part of your issues, regarding you suddenly taking massive damage is a connection issue which happens to a lot of people. You are hitting shots but the damage is delayed on both ends. These issues are amplified when the match is 6v6.

Last night playing Iron Banner one of the most horrible experiences playing pvp ever. Playing with my Stormcaller Warlock= Pointless. Two times I've popped up my super(With all of my gear masterworked) I was instantly shut down by 1st.. a Golden Gun. Second time..Popped up my super, instantly shut down by a Tractor Cannon????!!!. There's no spawn protection whatsoever. Uriel's Gift still very much OP.I've said it many times.. Destiny PvP is designed for Hunters.. Playing as a Warlock or a Titan is pointless.

DUDE!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! This is my experience to a T and it is some of the most perplexing shit I’ve ever experienced. And I’m wondering if an excellent internet connection might actually not be beneficial. I have a commercial grade connection, so naturally I feel that my experience should be anomaly free. But, 99.9999% of gamers connections aren’t. That leads me to wonder what adaptive “compensators” or “upscaling” or “extrapolators” the devs might have in the code, that puts high speed, ultra low latency, ultra low jitter connections at a disadvantage. Anyway, I feel you 100%

The lag
-
Sounds like lag/connection problems.
-
Been like this since D1. You’re literally punished for having a good internet connection.
-
Yep, I’m Like wtf all the time.
-
Lmao, you have bad luck
-
The better your internet, the bigger disadvantage you have thanks to lag compensation
