Comparing the warlocks "new" season 3 vanguard chest "ornament" to the dead orbit chest and EDZ chest... Crucible is just as bad, can't wait to see what re-skinned or minimal effort "ornaments" we get in faction rally next...
But seriously, bungie, if you're not going to do ornmanets properly, like they are done in IB or like they were in D1, then don't do them at all, give us new sets each season. It's bad enough everything we chase is a reskin already, and everything drops below our power level in everything we do. Stop being so lazy and so stingy with loot and gear each season. Here's another idea, maybe don't put one of the only new armor sets you release each season behind f***ing eververse!
Even the raid lairs gear has reskins. Remember when you had a whole new set for each raid? a whole new set for vanguard/crucible each expansion? I could see maybe adding ornaments to the planetary vendors, but you don't even do that. Everything feels so lazy. As a solo player, vanguard/crucible things are things I can chase and grind towards, but I don't even want to do that because there's no point when the ornaments either do next to nothing, or are literal reskins of armor sets I've already collected twice. It's unacceptable, it's insulting, and feels like a slap to the face for loyal players.

Edited by BannedMythicAccount: 5/14/2018 1:39:03 AMWhen you call em out on it the BDF and Mods will label you as ‘toxic’. Wait until the month is over when all the players leave the game again and this site is back to being a echo chamber of ‘wait til next DLC til they fix it and make it even better’ but theres ‘no problems right now and you’re entitled for believing there is’. This is why we have a dying community on top of a dying franchise. Lazy reskin of an ornament is one thing, lazy development of a full game dependent on lazy tact on dlc is another.
-
Don't worry! Bungie is listening! Too bad they're just listening.
-
Eververse still must die!!!

Yeah most of the "ornaments" are simply the same gear with a custom shader. Some pieces are actually different, which is cool. I think the Vanguard Titan armor actually does have some slight modifications, but the Crucible ornaments aren't even worth it. Maybe the helmet is 1% different than last season's?
-
I knew there were reskins but never to this extent. Wow
-
Ornaments in Year 3 Raids were some of the best looking stuff in the game. It's how ornaments should be. Season 2 had great ornaments for armor, but Season 3's felt very rushed and looks like an ugly paint job.

Edited by Rei: 5/14/2018 1:36:54 AMIt's like Bungie doesn't think anyone will notice how little effort they put into their "content." Hell, the Dark Below brought more loot into the game than the 2 "expansions" in Destiny 2.
-
This is rough. Wonder if they’re even indistinguishable if they were all using the same shader. What happened to Destiny?! I legit wanna know. It feels like almost every facet of this game went backwards. Huge bummer.
-
That does look pretty sad, I must admit it doesn’t look like it’s worth any grind to get.
-
i noticed it the other day on my phoenix (pvp) armour set but didn't mention it because i didn't want to get my head chewed of on here for stating the pathetic laziness it just baffles me how some people still defend bungie

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 5/14/2018 8:44:30 PMAnd here I thought Titans looking like Buzz Lightyear looked bad. WOW! Edit: looked again. Didn't know bell bottoms were still a thing...
-
Bungies entire design team is lazy! Look at raid lair gear for the new raid. The eververse gear is lost pacific gear! D2 is just a sad pathetic game with the most copy and paste Ive ever seen.
-
They only have 700 employees and multiple outside devs working for them, what do you want? Content is hard! Don't be a jerk!
-
Agree 100%. When I saw the new raid layer reskin armor I turned my game off. They amount of effort put into the Dawning gear shows how capable they are when they try but this reskin shit needs to stop.
-
You do know each texture is handmade and takes probably a hundred hours or more to make. Minimal Effort my ass. You make some better ones and let us know how you feel afterward.
-
The new crucible ornaments, too, are just minor alterations of the original generic all-faction loot we got as well. (Road, devastation and high-minded complex) with a few tweaks to the helmet but otherwise they're just retextures of those. The new raid lair armor is literally just a retexture of the previous raid lair's armor. Even the eververse is just a retexture of the Titan's Moon armor sets with new helmets. The worst part about all this - is that they're even inferior to the original versions! All of the new armor is hilariously incompatible with shaders. You apply shaders to the new stuff, even the faction armor from Mars, and there's enormous chunks of it that don't apply shaders. On the Mars stuff there's just giant white bits, like the entire face plate for the titan helmet, and on the eververse stuff all the gold detailing stays. It makes using shaders a pain in the ass - I don't know why bungie even bothers.
-
You're right D1 every new raid came with new armor, new skills on that armor and the vendors change all their inventory.
-
Definitely the only armor worth collecting in new dlc is protacal armor as rest is just clones and hardly any effort in making them unique and worth collecting.
-
Yeah seems most ornaments now are just shaders for a different slot :/
-
Why do people even want ornaments as they do nothing? Why people even want new armour after they find the one that suits them as new armour will not bring anything to the game? Personally I see them as worthless things but that is just me ☺
-
I haven’t changed my Winter Armour on my warlock. I doubt I will. So chasing that stuff is pointless to me.
-
I agree with your first paragraph and your point about ornaments. But the put about the raid lairs gear being reskinned, unfortunately, is basically moot, or dead? We came from D1 with 4 different raids spread out over 3 years with very different gear. We have that same expectation in the 1st year on D2 but it's unrealistic and unfair of us to compare. We complain the raids lairs aren't big enough, aren't unique enough, don't connect to the story. But thry are really all 1 giant acitivity together. The story ties together about Calus and his relationship to us. They aren't bigger because they're 3ish of them in one year, and the gear is reskinned because it's thematic and I'm sure would ALL rather them spent that time on developing the annual fall DLC's and it's gear as opposed to devoting that time to the hold over content that is a raid lair. And in year 3 of these ethere will be more than D1 offered. That being said of course I too would have loved for the old raids and planets to be in D2, and for the raid lair gear to be completely unique.

<At least the Iron Banana season 3 ornaments look cool...>
-
i see ornaments as what they are. just a change in how the armor shades. so if a piece of armor has a big spot that commonly houses the worst colors the ornaments will move that. only expect outstanding ornaments for endgame gear.

I just high heels, mini skirt and a beard for my hunter..How hard is that Bungie?
