Personally i think it was very underwhelming.
Nokris just shows up out of no where, and even though Xol is an all powerful worm god, we kill him by throwing a glowing stick at him a couple times
Maybe not underwhelmed...but certainly just whelmed. The story was, as always, very simplistic with no depth. The fight against Nokris reminded me of the fight against little Oryx in the TTK campaign - same rhythm and beat to it. Nokris even had the same poses and animations as little Oryx as he chased me around the room. I just kept seeing repeated set pieces from earlier D1 content throughout. Of course, part of that is from having spent sooo many hours in D1 (1700+); I recognize the physical arrangement of objects. These are memorized battle paths. The Clovis Bray facility looks just like the facilities on Titan. Change the atmospheric shades to blue and you couldn't tell the difference. There is even one platform that is identical to the fallen walker public event platform on Titan. It is not "bad" and it did not have the horrible disservice to the lore that CoO did, but it also didn't bring anything new to the table. It was just "meh". As always, this is just my opinion. I hope there are guardians out there who enjoyed it more than I did.
