It's a real simple concept but might be difficult to implement. But, overall, this is my general idea:
[spoiler]Allow us to place kinetic damage mods on energy weapons; doing so would, in turn, make it a kinetic weapon for the kinetic weapon slot.
And, allow us to place energy (arc, solar, void) damage mods on kinetic weapons; doing so would, in turn, make it an energy weapon for the energy weapon slot.
Exotic weapons would be an exception to the rule.[/spoiler]
My thoughts on the subject and problems that might arise:
[spoiler]I think this alone would practically double the amount of customization we'd have with our loadout, cause often at times I find myself liking more energy weapons than I, kinetic weapons.
The problems I see arising out of this would be on the topic whether or not energy weapons with Dragonfly or are burst-fire/full-auto sidearms could be made kinetic.[/spoiler]
Additional Notes: [spoiler]I am aware Bungie addressed weapon slot changes coming in September and this post is not intended to intervene with their plans, this is merely a suggestion, but be aware, this suggestion does not address the dependency on power weapons and what could be done to them.[/spoiler]
