Spreading hate is bound to happen when they promise to improve on a product we paid for and not stick to the promises and just rip off their consumers. Yes they need to make a profit, but not -blam!- our pockets (or try to for people like me who don't give up to micro-transactions). A '10 year plan' shouldn't be planned to begin with. They should just see how a game does at launch and go from there not plan a whole decade. Those who are pissed off gave them a chance to improve bringing new massives amount of content, but they didn't. Just short as hell stories with uninteresting characters and moments. Don't get me wrong gameplay wise the game is good it is fluid and killing enemies is good, but you could say that about any first person shooter tbh.

The argument is never going to stop if the line keeps on moving back, don't worry guys D5 will fix everything. The ten year plan is a contract, 3+ years in and they're just now reaching towards D1Y3 by D2Y2. I understand not releasing all the content, but -blam!- why is it in such sorry state. The game is in bad shape, and the community is reflecting it quite well. I guess I'm just a hater but at least I play the game, many of us stuck with it hoping the best. Instead of a culmination of what made D1 great we get this, to no surprise people are pissed and patience just like everything they "learned" was thrown out the window.

Firstly, people aren't upset that Bungie isn't releasing the "full game" of Destiny. Most, if not all people understand that it is an experience designed to be told over a certain length of time, like any other series. Any person arguing that Bungie should release Destiny's entire story in one go is idiotic at best. What people are actually upset about is the horrendous business practices enacted by Bungie in this newest installment (Consumable shaders, expanding Eververse, lying about throttling experience gains, locking content that was previously available behind DLC[which was eventually fixed], and plenty of other stuff I fail to recall.) and the lack of content in this newest DLC when the company learned and accomplished so much from the first installment. Granted, Bungie is rolling out MANY improvements to the game's quality of life, many people have already made up their minds to not trust Bungie anymore after their initial scorn. "Destiny is and will be one of the best communities in gaming..." This right here is a massive opinion and frankly it may have once been close to the truth, but to have a great community you also have to have a limitless supply of loyal fans willing to support you, and with a vast amount of D1 players swearing off Destiny for good, I can't imagine this will become more than a wish. True, there is a lot of toxic behavior right now, although that doesn't exactly mean its a large community beyond people expressing their displeasure towards Destiny. These people aren't buying Silver or DLCs, so they aren't actively supporting Bungie or Destiny's production. These people do not enjoy the game. A game like Dark Souls or CSGO, however, may have a very toxic community who actively enjoy and support the developers. This is the difference between a toxic community, and toxic customers. Also, I actually hopped onto D2 today, and with the few amount of people I found I can guarantee you that the toxic players easily outnumber the satisfied ones. However, I am sure that you have managed to find many friendly players too, and thats great, yet nearly everything I've heard from others about D2 can be considered "toxic or disinterested". "...Most of the haven't played the game..." This is an awful statement. I'm sorry, but its true. You attempt to discredit thousands, if not millions of opposing opinions by simply saying "they jumped on the band wagon". At Destiny 2's launch, this COULD have been a relatively valid point, I even told myself that in the months leading up to the PC launch because I didn't want to hear it. I can't imagine that thousands of people who don't have any interest in D2 would take time out of their day to go onto Bungie.net, create an account, and then complain about very specific things they find wrong with the game. Again, your argument here is very weak and frankly isn't true. I'm in no way trying to be disrespectful, I'm just expressing what I think is true. Finally, as a huge Destiny fan myself, I have to say that I am very saddened by D2's current state. I have been playing Destiny 1 since launch like many others here, played through every once of DLC, collected every grimoire card I could, preordered D2 with a Discord full of friends who all did the same and... nothing. We all played together, finished the raid, and found ourselves with a bitter taste in our mouths. Many of them swore off of D2 after that, and it truly did sadden me at first. It was then I realized that simply being a "sequel" shouldn't be an excuse to have less content than your previous title, or retcon pieces of lore. Despite all of this, despite the lies and deceit, I still love Destiny. TL;DR: While Destiny 2 may be good in your eyes, the majority of the fanbase disagrees with your views for very valid reasons. Curse of Osiris was, frankly, a very disappointing to many despite you claiming them to be stupid. Your excuse that people hate the game because they don't play it is a common excuse for people who do not want to accept that a game they love is hated so much. Note: I'm sorry if this went on for far too long, I simply got carried away typing. To reiterate, I am a huge fan of Destiny, always have been, and will likely continue to play it, but I am no longer a fan of Bungie. Its one smoke and mirrors give and take after another. The toxicity was caused and is kept alive by BUNGIE . we all were having fun with friends on D1 , even though the game never made making friends or commucating or finding a group easy. Oh where to start, How about all the content that was suppose to be in D1 but instead got shoved into D2? The piss poor communication. Eververse loot box controversy Bright engram XP controversy Regressions from D1 such as crucible, silver/eververse, energy weapons nerfed and turned into power weapons nobody uses, lower quality raid encounters than D1, shallow public events, #TwoTokensandBlue public events, shallow repetitive public events, no archon's forge or court of oryx analog/evolution, no ammo synth.....and that's just off the top of my head for regressions ie things-that-were-better-in-D1 Bad writing - firing Joe Staten and retconning the best parts of the lore I'm sure there's more, that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. [edit] Uninteresting and dull lead characters with moribund lines of dialogue with the exception of Cayde. Reskinned enemies from D1 (actually D1 had more varied enemies if you count the Siva Fallen) Titans for PVE just go arc and use pulse grenades unless you're fighting Calus and then you just nerf and go solar, hunters just go celestial nighthawk and gunslinger, warlocks just go stormcaller and pulse grenades or fail. All other subclasses aren't worth talking about and are demonstrably and objectively worse in terms of dps output, utility, and survivability. Consumable shaders No sparrow racing league (but hey it's coming....half a year later after launch....) Wow the points just keep coming the more I think on this......

[i]Sigh[/i] Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'll assume this is your main account meaning you've been here for about a year. This means you weren't here for the initial release of Destiny 1. Destiny 1 was rebooted quite close to release. As a result we got a great proof of concept but it needed lots of work. 3 years later, some missteps, overall lots of improvements and we're on the verge of Destiny 2s release. It comes, it's [i]almost[/i] as disappointing as Destiny 1. Turns out it was rebooted quite close to release as well. Basically what you need to realize it that this isn't a 10 year franchise. This isn't an mmo that gets better as the years go on. The content doesn't just keep accumulating, making for a fantastic package of content and improvements. We've got a franchise that gets better over 2-3 years, then resets. Never quite reaching it's potential.

Ignore the haters and the trolls. There is nothing that can ever be done with this game that will make them happy.
