Would You Rather? #43
A. Every time you disagree with someone or something; every time you argue back at someone, and every time you get something right or do good at something - you get a paper cut in the back of your throat.(logically that doesn't make much sense, but for WYR it does lmao)
B. You only can do something you enjoy once a month. And if you do something you enjoy twice a month, you'll lose one toe and one finger. Lastly, if you do something you enjoy three times a month, someone you love will suffer from a severe mental illness.(permanently, so a boring life really) Every month it resets.(the consequences don't though)
C. You win $1,000,000, but every train and plane in the world which are currently transporting people will explode. Killing countless amounts of innocent people.
D. You get $250,000 for the year and a free maid. But you can't communicate in any way for that entire year. In ANY way. Failing to do so will result in your tongue being cut out of your mouth. And your hands removed from your body. Never able to talk or write again.(I guess you'll used to texting and typing with your nose) If you succeed the year, you'll get an additional $250,000, but the free maid goes.
E. You get the career and women/man you've always wanted.(dream career/soul mate) But suffer from a permanent ego death.
F. Cupid makes you and the person you hate the most for in love. Unable to fight against it. Deep down you want this false love to end, but you're a prisoner in your own emotion.
G. You have the choice to become a god. But first, you have to suffer from every type of medieval torture imaginable for 1,000 years. No breaks. Non-stop. Pain.

What happens when you're so restricted that things like eating and sleeping become your only source of enjoyment, and thus are effected by the WYR? [quote]C. Our eyes, our body language, etcetera. All it takes is one gesture without thinking and you fail. I feel like this one is too hard to complete. [quote]E. Pain.[/quote] This would probably suck at first, but you'd basically get to the point where your brain would shut off as a coping mechanism for the pain, at which point you'd basically feel nothing. Then it's just a waiting game. Unless there's some bullshit rule like "you're always conscious and you don't gain a tolerance from the pain," this one is actually one of the better options considering you'll literally be a god after you're done. Still not gonna pick this one though.

2 Replies<OK, 3 questions. 1. If G, wouldn't you end up getting used to the pain after a while? Especially if it's non-stop. Not to mention that enough pain can make a person faint, so wouldn't you end up being unconscious half the time? It doesn't seem to bad if you factor it all in. 2. For F, what if the person you hate the most is also the person you love the most? Side note, what if the... thing... you hate the most is a fictional entity? 3. For E, what if you never had an ego to begin with?>

1 ReplyNothing can kill my Ego. E, easily. If it dies it's reborn and further inflated. But these have been intriguing; Offtopic seems to prefer mental or non-permanent pain (Which explains why guilt inducing options have never won; It is a permanent pain). You can see the trend here, and amazingly, it's quite different from a lot of other polls and studies; For example; Most people in offtopic would rather get their stomach punched in 10 times, as opposed to having one of their toe nails fall off; Very temporary but very potent paint < Minor but long lasting pain. Most people in offtopic would rather see themselves brought to near suicidal depression (if they don't already have it :P) with recovery as an almost impossible option as opposed to having their bicep muscle cut into. ^The second you take out than 'almost' in the depression side most offtopicians would take the bicep pain; It turns from mental pain to permanent pain, so it can be evaluated into 6 categories more or less, in order of ascending popularity in offtopic. 1. Temporary Mental Pain 2. Long Lasting Mental Pain 3. Temporary Physical Pain 4. Long Lasting Physical Pain 5. Permanent Physical Pain 6. Permanent Mental Pain. Do with this evaluation as you will.
