Whilst collecting and deleting the earned loot for the day I've been hearing a lot of whispering while at the tower. "Shhh (add faction or class) will hear you." There are multiple versions of this statement through out the tower but basically as a guardian it gives me an uneasy feeling as though there is a secret group of individuals who are plotting the demise of the tower and/or guardians. Once you have beaten one of the raids and you unlock sweeper bot he says something to the effect of we are on the wrong side.
I'm beginning to think that the cabal attack was an inside job ( not really my main theory) OR that there are things we do not know and we will be attacked/ kicked out by this secret group. Does anyone else feel this way? Your thoughts on this subject and direct overheard quotes are welcome.

Edited by Kanashimi510: 3/27/2018 5:06:08 PMYou may be correct in thinking it was an inside job. New Monarchy may have conspired to remove the speaker by any means necessary. There is grimoire called "Cabal Champions" that reads: Report Executor, I want to note again how strongly I feel that the tenets do not cover this kind of field work. The real battle is back home, in the heart of the City, in the people of the Tower. In any case, as you requested I've made a detailed study of the Cabal command structure aboard the Dreadnaught. Detailed notes are enclosed, but suffice it to say their normally robust military engine has found itself hopelessly mired aboard Oryx's fortress. Our assaults on Cabal leadership in-system has had a devastating impact. The Skyburner's Primus, his bond-brothers, Valus Ta'aurc, Valus Trau'ug, Primus Sha'aull, and a smattering of lesser Vals and Bracuses... all dead or on the run, all thanks to us. In short, I believe your supposition is correct. The Empire will have no choice but to respond. Look at them now, the speaker is gone and you lesser guardians flock to them during faction rally events.

How hasn't everyone known about this? LMAO, about time ppl started to ask. I wouldn't go as far as to saying there is a plot of ppl hiding in the shadows and rise up of anything, but I have always believed ever since D1 that we were the bad guys. I have multiple videos on YouTube about this very conversation. But instead of giving what a typical Destiny YouTube would say, I would look beyond that. Theories of mine on why I think we are evil: - We destroyed a ruler, - We destroyed a "all being" black heart. - We knew the cabal were coming and still still nothing to help the people. - We allowed Siva to murder our own Iron Lords but just a couple remaining. -We have killed the King of all Kells. -Weve destroyed both Oryx, the King of taken, and the Dark lrince that was jealous of Keys and wanted his crown, but it's a noble deed to kill both of them??? And also his damn son!? -We go to a prison to murder living enemies that are held captive. -we go on mission where we MUST kill majority of all living things around us, before we are notified to keep going. -We kill innocent things such as, harpies, servitors, and shanks, and normally don't bother you unless you are a coming threat. Which in life even a bee would do, however, a bee wouldn't attack you unless it felt harmed. But no, instead we are the flyswatter and don't give a damn about the ecosystem or life history, there survival techniques, as long as their dead. And in the end we do it for loot. Mere pieces of armor or guns that we don't even take a second glance at before destroying them. Hell, guardians are so corrupt that, they, don't even know it. A guardian would never kill something that was never a potential threat... And do it for free???.... Think about PVP. And the rewards. Most of the time your killing each other with not only no rewards, but you were never suppose to have that mentality. Now hungry for blood, even if it's from your own brethren, your a powertrip to get EVEN MORE GEAR AND MOTE POWRFUL WAEAPONS. THIS IS WHERE THE RAID COMES INTO PLAY. WORKING WITH PPL YOU HATE TO ALLOW THE FLOW OF GREED WASH YOUR BODY, ONLY TO BE DISSAPOINTED AND EVEN MLRE HUNGRY FOR MORE AND MORE LOOT UNTIL YOU HAVE IT ALL!!! EVIL LAUGH, MUAHAHAHA!!! *ahem*, got carried away there, but you see.... We are the evil ones.... And there are many many other things I could mention as well. I could go on for hours how this is a major possibility.

The voices help me sleep at night 😊

Yeah it's possible. I heard what Benedict said after I unlocked him and it, imo, was the most intriguing part of the game. Could it have been Eris that brought the cabal to the tower? Cause it's never said where she went. It's just said that she wasn't at the tower. And at the end of TTK when we killed Oryx (in the missions not the raid), she acted very strangely. So if this is true, my money is on Eris.

I wonder about the battle frame that had an “attempted hack”. It’s a scannable under FWC. That peeked my interest

Edited by BC1 Edge: 3/27/2018 7:40:13 AMHave you thought about seeing a psychiatrist? When the voices get louder it might be too late for you.

I often hear someone talking about the comfort/warmth of (possibly) a new faction head - the so called "South elevator". We may get to meet them in a later DLC.
whoops, sorry, just remembered I was still wearing Cayde's spinfoil hat
Whispers usually mean I have to kill someone in Assassin's Creed Rogue. I know what you're talking about though. The Speaker's death left a power vacuum.
-
Scannable items around the Tower indicate the factions are spying on one another. With the death of the Speaker, someone needs to step up and take his place and each faction leader wants that position so they can fully enact their vision for humanity. I suppose the guards and civilians are quite jumpy or suspicious at this behaviour; just like us, not all of them would fully support the same faction. The Speaker left somewhat of a power vacuum and each faction and its followers desperately want to fill the void and will probably do anything to achieve their goals.

Edited by MrKnackebrod: 3/26/2018 4:09:22 PMWay too much depth for D2.

Just the voices in your head. Just listen to them. They always guide you right.
-
I heard they caught another one smuggling wormspore out into the city.
-
Even Bungie doesn't know the answer because they haven't yet written the story.
-
have you worked your way inside the conference room near dead orbit? there is one clue there (and i think another scannable on io) which is a heavily redacted diary of a warlock whose name escapes me. the clue on io may be in were the warmind is someplace around there or in there. maybe thats part of it. i do keep hearing civs stopping each other talking. i also get ones (at the farm when i go) ask me what the void is of my warlock.
-
Haha, told everyone I wasn't crazy....yes you are...shut up...

That's the void
whispering back.
*Burn them my child, burn them all to ash. Who said that?

This game is cursed.
-
Well Lysander and the Concrodat are still out there planning an attack on the city to overtake it these people might be part of the Concrodat helping plan the attack from inside the walls
-
It was like that, but I didn't attach any importance to it.
-
I heard them say FWC was watching? That’s all?
-
Where was this? Do I have to crank the volume up? Kinda curious now.

Bump. A penny for your thoughts either for or against guardians? Was hoping for a bit of conversation in said topic
