It really is amazing to see how Bungie has devolved over the last three-plus years. During the peak Halo days, this company built up a reputation with its fan-base as an organization that always put its players first, and above all, made them feel powerful. They were on record saying that as a company they actively avoided a 'corporate, business-first approach' in favor of being able to connect with their fans. In retrospect we should have seen the writing on the wall when they signed with Activision, a company known for pushing out games as fast as possible, even at the expense of excitement and depth. What we received with the launch of D2 was a game stripped bare of everything that had made Bungie into a company once worth rooting for. The core business concept Activision is pushing here is that all the content has already been made. But rather than include it all at launch, they are 'drip feeding' it throughout these expansions. There are multiple examples of this even in the first Destiny, all through TTK expansion. D2 simply represents a more extreme example. This leads to a very disheartened sense that this franchise will be able to right itself. That is easily the most disappointing thing for me, a player who first bought a next-gen console for the first time specifically to play Destiny.
