Dear Bungie developer of the Gauntlet Encounter.
Recently i had a small discussion about the Gauntlet encounter how to solve it in the fastest way possible without using Glitches or Exploits.
While we where talking about it i told him we will surely get a good closure about this matter from bungie. So i will ask for him, and myself. He thought asking would be totally unnecessary because the developer of the Gauntlet encounter didnt changed / fixed its functionality / mechanic in a way, that all people are doing it in the same mechanic as most people believe is the right mechanic bungie intended.
Now to the Mechanic itself: Most people play it in the way where the runner person is bringing the Ball-Item to the center room of the map. To get there they run clockwise through the Gauntlet with all the obstacles and holes. Tommy mentioned you can do it also counter-clockwisefor the purpose to safe some time for the whole overall run of the raid. His reasoning is the developers didnt put an unpassable barrier in the way to prevent players doing the counterclockwise run.
So i cant go into details because i dont know how to do it besides said things, and i didnt ask him to clarify this mechanic. I dont want to play by using game-mechanic breaking exploits. Which i believe here is the question about counterclockwise running in the gauntlet.
The Question on table is:
Is that an exploit or glitch or is it intended mechanic which few people know, but is seen as a viable way by the developers of the gauntlet encounter?
The discussion is opened, feel free to make your statement. I also would like one official answer to that from bungie. This can go into a heated argument here in the forum.
Theres so many people who like to glitch in games and use it to break mechanics of encounters. And i am not talking bout glitches like the ammo glitch from wardcliff, i am meaning exploits and glitches to change an intended way of doing an encounter to have it more easy.
Also dont forget, this can also be just a prank' from Tommy to mess me up, i cant tell that because i never saw this counterclockwise run.
our best regards

So far we have some small answers directing this encounter in the raid to a corner, where we can safely say it is NOT an exploit and NOT any kind of Glitch. If it would be, surely some moderator from Bungie would have honored this thread and important question to enlighten us all. So to say, if it is really a viable tactic to play the Gauntlet encounter, the next question we should ask is: "Why are the developres of the Raid encounters doing this? Why is the raid mechanic build in this way? All your work to polish this encounter is for nothing, you are paid for work to make an encounter an unforgetting experience and not a cheesy one?" If you other guys in the community have similiar questions, do ask away in the feedback forum. People need to know why we get presented with this or that decisions which in some cases make no sense at all, or are plainly weird. best regards Hero

Personally as a Player, I don't view it as an Exploit or Glitch. I think it's a very clever use of the actual mechanics. The question if the Developers intended it that way, well that's something only the developers can answer. I've been using this strategy in a few of my recent Leviathan Runs, and personally it's much more safe that way. Sometimes you have people on the team who are quite slow in the Gauntlet, or cannot jump well. That mechanic helps these people, as three people don't have to run at all in the last round. It also helps getting more Orbs in the last round. And to confirm it for you, yes, there is an actual "Counter Clockwise" strategy. Though it is not counter clockwise all the way.

How would this be perceived as an exploit or glitch? You're literally doing the same thing but in reverse. Also this would be smart as it eliminates people who can't hit theirs for some reason.
-
There is no bug to exploit tbh, its not like there is an invs wall and people are passing through it.
-
It’s to prevent lag or other things blocking you if you run around so it’s just like a broken item in my head

Idnt even know you could run it CCW. I'm usually a shooter on the Hounds platform so I only run at the end but, I wouldn't think it's an exploit.

I have seen it on YT I dont think this is an exploit its the game that is full of bugs
