These things happen every other month these days. Something needs to be done

It's horrible. I heard a criminologist talk about the factors that have made this more common. A culture of narcissism mixed with social media have created a toxic cocktail. Throw in easy access to guns and bingo, instant tragedy.

Edited by dr obvious2535: 2/15/2018 1:08:30 AMThat was the 18th school shooting of 2018. And it's only February.

Nearly every mass shooting takes place in a gun free zone. At least let the teachers be armed to protect the students. A "gun-free zone" sign is pretty much saying "we are unarmed".
-
Ya know.... I'll get "you're an idiot" for this but think about it. When God was starting to be erased from society, government and schools this started happening. The fear of God is no longer there. Everyone gets self serving and starts playing God. "I'll show them."

They need to stop assault rifles from being sold you don't need anything more than a shotgun or handgun to defend yourself
-
Something needs to be done. However, here's what will happen: "Stop politicizing a tragedy!" "Guns don't kill people!" "Shall not be infringed!" "(X) is to blame, not guns!" [Nothing is done about guns.] [Nothing is done about (X).] [Problem is ignored until it happens again.]

Our gun laws are a classic example of doing the same things over and over again, and expecting a different outcome. We need sane gun laws. ...and we need to do something about our mental health system. Because these mass shootings...and the accelerating frequency with which they are happening....is showing us that BOTH of these systems are terminally broken.

Can’t shoot up a school if there is no school
-
Taking guns away won't stop the killings. Only way to stop them is to dismantle the culture behind them. Here's what I propose: Ban news media from broadcasting statistics about the MSs kills, etc and keep it as tightly classified as possible Ban news media from identifying the shooter Add a squad of around a dozen or so armed and trained officers to each public school that sit and wait in a locked area(s).

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks...

Something needs to be done about this. We need better guards.
-
