Hey Bungie. The recent move for making the forums for gaming feedback and community conversation was an acceptable move for the community.
Many people and players such as YongYea's community claimed that you made the move to shut forums of as a violation of freedom of speech. However, I believe your intent was to avoid others who do not own the game make ignorant comments and find remarks from players who are experienced with the actual content of the game. I assume this was a move to pinpoint problems and further invest into improvements of the game and not be confused with trolls.
The forums of this game changed to a battleground of riots and lost the meaning of forums, a place where players seek question and help. It saddens me that a place of help was misused. I trust that you guys are making this game head towards the direction where many can praise and applaud instead of being a victim of countless criticism.
I have a few questions that I like to be answered for the sake of clearing confusion with the recent changes:
Since the requirements for feedback and clan posts is to reach the farm and own a destiny account, can the demo meet these requirements and give the right for players to use the forum?
Why did the forum topics such as gaming and off topic require to play D2? Is there a reason behind this move or is it a misunderstanding?
Is there any specific case that caused the forums to be changed in such manner?
Will the changes in the forums ever revert back to its old requirements?
I strongly wish that these questions can be answered for me and others to get a better understanding and desire the game can exit out from the state of being a scapegoat and regain its former glory.
