What "Monster Hunter World" monster gave you the most trouble?
Just curious on what monsters others had a hard time. I had a hard time on the anjanath. Took me 6 hours and my sanity.
[spoiler] for the poll I picked the middle of the pack monsters. Not the beginning ones meant to be easy or the end ones meant to be hard [/spoiler]

2 RepliesFor me at the moment, It's Kirin. It carted me twice and then I started dealing zero damage to it. After that I just quit the quest, because it seemed like I wasn't ready to take it on yet.

I use a bow, so Anja + Odo we’re hardest 2 for me. Mix of range atks + high movement speed + high aggression gives bows trouble. Since then I got my stamina costs down to nothing and my evade distance maxed so I can fly around the battlefield and they’re easy. Anything slow moving and/or super large is easy prey for the bow. Diablos was a joke and Nirg wasn’t bad either. Dragon piercer absolutely owns large targets.

You fight it somewhat early, so I was thinking "Nah, he can't be that much tougher than the oth- HE JUST ONE SHOT ME!?" After that, I haven't underestimated any monsters, and haven't failed a quest since. (I just got to the Elders' Recess, so I know things are about to get real)

Well I’m not too far into it yet. I just got to Wildspire Wastes and took down that story Barroth. That was probably the hardest monster so far. Not necessarily cuz it was hard but just because that thing is hard to pin down and I kept bouncing off its rock hard head lol

None. Last boss was the only thing to actually make me fail a quest.

1 ReplyTempered Bazelgeuse. I joined as SOS when playing this and didn't realize his bombs would 1 hit me. Being dual blades I constantly would use demon evades and slide attack them. I managed to keep the deaths at 2 and the rest of the team didn't drop. So I have to thank them for helping me complete the quest. I didn't expect them to hit that hard. Bazelgeuse wins it for me, haven't tried the Tempered Kirin or any of the tempered investigation quests, yet! It's hard to say, but Tempered Bazelgeuse has it for now.

I was able to solo all the ones mentioned above pretty easily but Kirin has given me a bitch of a time.

Only monsters I've carted to so far are Kirin, Diablos, and Teostra. Which is ironic considering these were some of the easier ones for me in 4U

I have yet to kill Legiana so I haven't gotten to kill Odogaron. Though, I could have tried multiple times while grinding Great Girros.

Lol, I got a nice investigation for Diablos, lots of cash and slots, so I though that is a good mision to farm him. Problem is, and there always seem there is one, that he is not alone. A Black Diablos keeps messing up my day and no matter how much I poop her she just won't leave. And even though they keep fighting each other as soon as they notice me they both go full ham on me. 1 Diablos with a Gunlance is not a big deal but 2 and one of them is a Black is pretty intense, so much for farming Diablos I guess.

I figured from the encounters during the Zorah Magdaros Quests that Nergigante wouldn’t be that big a deal. Boy, was I wrong.

Diablos as of now. First try I didn't have decent armor so I'd die real easy. Then I got a full set of Legiana armor and tried again. Better but no luck still. So I decided why not join in on an SOS, it'll be easier taking it on with someone else. I was right, it was. However someone ALWAYS dies after like 30 minutes of fighting and then we fail when it's nearly dead.

Nergigante was my first real wall and it hit me like a bullet train. Vaal gave me a run for my money too. All 3 elders are now out of the way, one new fight left.

Everybody else generally stayed in rooms while this -blam!-er stops at a hallway for half the fight. Edit: my experience is definitely biased since I didn't solo Anjanath, Rathalos, Rathian, or Diablos on my first experience. However, I think I did solo Pink Rathian with ease.
