Which do you prefer, and why?
I just couldn't get into BF1
-
Bad Company 2 was their best one, 3 was a lot of fun too.
-
I voted for BF4 but I prefer BF3 over either of them.
-
Battlefield 1 had its WW1 gimmick, and that's it. Vehicle selection was far more limited, as were weapon and gadget choices. There just wasn't the same freedom you had in BF4.
-
BF4 because sure it was unbalanced however it was heck lots of fun. I remember shotgun sprees and LMG sprees constantly sitting in a hallway pointed towards a spawn. Plus BF4 had great maps imo they felt big and complete unlike BF1 where it’s all just the same color and lacks much destruction.

Battlefield 4 on the ps3 suffered with so many latency issues it really ruined the experience for me, and didn't get any better when I upgraded to ps4 version. I'm loving BF1 though, feels nice, no latency issues, and pretty balanced. I know I'm in the minority though.

Be excellent to each other. - old
BF4, the feature which allows you to destroy skyscrapers still amazes me. -
Bf4 was horrible. It only took till AFTER all the DLCs landed that they were able to fix that buggy mess. Bf1 i like, yea it's not great but the destruction and ww1 models i like.

Edited by Rhynerd: 2/5/2018 9:23:49 AMI tried to care about BF4, I probably failed before I picked up the story myself. Then I got burned out by the multiplayer, and eventually uninstalled it to make room for other games. I have no urge to download the game again. Battlefield 1 on the other hand captured me with it’s War Stories and then failed to burn me out once I hit multiplayer. I also really enjoy Operations, despite some overly blatant issues they have. Oh, and my strange love for the Chauchat probably also helps as well.

I always remember trying to get some kind of vehicle every game, yet my teammates left me, or when I tried to fly the helicopter that was full but only killed the entire crew. I love BF4

BF4 by far. BF4 has some major flaws, but they're not as serious as BF1's. BF1's weapon and infantry v. vehicle balance is off, and the addition of behemoths and elite units doesn't help the matter. The customization is lacking and there's no real variety in the gadgets players carry. The changes to the weapon mechanics from 4 to 1 are horrible, LMGs in particular are a travesty. Reverse spread? Dafuq, DICE? Makes tap firing useless and just increases the TTK of LMGs unnecessarily. Secondly, making bolt-actions able to OHK with chest hits was idiotic. Way to casualize one of the most overused classes with a misguided attempt to force PTFOing. Class balance is also off, but this is something that DICE has struggled with since the first Battlefield. It's not as bad as BF3-4's Assault revive trains, but giving the Assault (Engineer) class the best weapons and the best gadgets for killing was a little much, because all their teamplay gadgets were removed as well (Repair Tool). And who even runs repair tool on the Support? It's like DICE just removed the ability for the best killers to revive, but forgot to give them something else to do.

I miss the tank fights of BF4.
-
the one with planes
-
BF1 has - a lack of guns - a lack of gun variety - that stupid comeback mechanic - a horrid progression system - the worst load times - boring maps - muddy color pallete - few more reasons All the things BF1 does bad BF4 does good. Bf1 is a disappointment, my faith in DICE is honestly fading.
-
1 no doubt. It feels fresh. I was burned out of modern combat BF games
-
BF3 was my fav. Never got back into the series after 4... mainly due to my squad fam not playing anymore.
-
I prefer BF1's destruction, but BF4 is better in almost every other way, especially after TTK 2.0 for BF1 destroyed the balance in the game even further. I also prefer BF4 customization to BF1 variants.
-
I do decent in Battlefield One, so that one.
-
BF4 started off really bad and gradually got better. After a year it was really enjoyable. BF1 is the reverse. Loading screens are really bad and vehicles dont spawn sometimes until well after you have initial spawn. Dice buffs and nerfs seems to be more idiotic with BF1. The lack of Hardcore at launch and then the total buffoonery that Dice implemented with it were just wrong.
-
BF1 easily. If modern games weren't so common I'd probably be more into BF4. Doesn't mean it's bad, I'll just take the older setting game over the other.

Never played BF 4, but I love Battlefield 1. I love the look and feel. The massed battles are just incredible. So many different ways to play.
-
That’s interesting. I couldn’t stand the shift from BFBC2 to BF3 and 4, despite the emphasis on Frostbite 2 (?). BF1 felt like it took the best parts of BF4 (destruction, “game changers”) and from BFBC2 (squad emphasis, slow(er) gunplay) And knocked it out the park with BF1.
-
BF4 is eons better
-
Nice to see you pop up in #gaming. Also BF4, I don’t know why exactly but BF1 didn’t feel like the traditional Battlefield game. Something about the utter chaos felt different
-
4. Just downloaded 1 and played for like a week before deleting it again. 4 hasn't left my home screen since I bought it.
-
BF4 , without a doubt. Graphics are absolutely beautiful for BF1, but beyond that I just couldn’t get into it. Now where the hell is Bad Company 3 dammit.
