The Switch, in only, 10 months has already sold more units than the Wii U did.
Wii U sold about 13.5 million while the Switch has sold over 14 million.
I thought the Switch wasn't supposed to be good? I thought it was another gimmick? Well this switch bitch right here is happy he has his (holy alliteration).
Long live Nintendo!
Edit: looks like my disliker has returned to dislike my post. You monster!

BoTW is the reason why the switch was so successful

When I first heard about the switch, I was ticked. I didn't want to shovel out more money for another console. It turns out I was wrong and I don't regret getting it.
-
Didn't the Wii u fail?
-
My wife insisted on getting one since it came out. She’s a massive Zelda fan. My kids wanted mario odyssey like a fat kid wants cake. We got it all for Xmas. From the start of January, it’s collected dust. Do you know how much beer I could have bought for all that o.O
-
Sure. That's lovely. Where's Smash Brothers?
-
Sales-wise, the Wii also did gangbusters on its business. Quality-wise, just look at how incredibly unwelcome that system turned out. Likewise, the Switch is probably the WORST Nintendo platform ever made. Gamers of today apparently prefer consuming sh*t sandwiches. With the Switch they're getting exactly that.
-
Oh Nintendo. People can hate all they want... but you hit some pretty consistent grand slams to the delightful frustration of "hardcore" games who will never understand you. May you always tick them off. And may you continue releasing Zelda and Mario games that embarrass the rest of the gaming market with their consistent incredible quality.

Edited by Communist Toast: 2/3/2018 6:04:11 AMit sold more than the wii u? that's not that surprising cause the wii u also sucked. that's like saying a game did good cause it did better than No Man's Sky. like it did better than garbage? good job?

I’m going to buy the switch when they come out with more exclusive games. Nintendo has some of the best games I have ever played. The 64, and GameCube were loaded with classics. The wii was alright but I didn’t like I had to wave and move to play certain games like Zelda
-
Labo looks kinda interesting.

Edited by Kone19ps: 2/3/2018 3:41:02 AMSwitch is doing well but I feel like comparing to Wii U is pointless. It pretty much failed. Though I’ll wait for the next upgrade with better joycons and more resilient parts. I’m in no rush for everyone else to work out the bugs and build a stronger library of games
-
I bought one. Sold it to a friend as soon as I beat BotW. It was fun but the weak lineup of games is a huge drawback.
-
I thought Wii U sold over 100 million units.
-
The what?
-
Mine has been collecting dust since November. I didn't even finish Zelda, I'm just waiting for Pokemon.
-
I got one earlier this winter. I -blam!-ing love it. I got Zelda and Mario. Honestly, two of the best games I’ve played in a very very long time.
-
In my eyes it's still only has one game Zelda but that can be played on other devices so it's got nothing really but cardboard
-
The Snes was the best console ever, if Nintendo hadn't screwed the deal with Sony, we might have a proper next gen system that can handle 4k graphics at Pc spec framerates, instead of a hybrid thing that has 3 must have exclusive games, and some cardboard cutout accessories that will soon be copied by anyone with a pair of scissors... I'm dyslexic, don't judge

So glad I decided to skip getting a 3DS, especially considering I'd have only bought it for Pokemon. Now we get the main games on an actual console, and I get to play a shitload of amazing Nintendo games. Only killer for me is the soon to be subscription service to play online. Price for 12 months is cheap, but I'm not buying it. I already have XBL.
-
I can't wait to get Bayo 1 and 2 on the go later this month!
-
I'm assuming it's selling well for its handheld capabilities. It being a home console is secondary to most buyers of the system in my opinion.
-
Slow clap.
-
My cousins got one for Christmas. They broke it literally the day later, and now constantly want to play mine. Nah fam yall are a bunch of wack kids who threw yours at the ground cuz yoshi was always faster than you, I ain't giving you mine.
-
I actually thought it would do well. What I was wrong about was how I thought it would replace my 2DS XL. It makes sense for Nintendo, though. I can see how they wouldn't want to lose DS sales to their own, other product.
-
I sure do.
