Am I an alcoholic?

Okay so I don’t get the shakes or anything like that but I get mad cravings and it’s like eating at me to buy a drink and I always give in.. this doesn’t happen every day but at least 3 times a week. Also when I drink I can’t just have one... or two... (or 3 lmao) never been that type of person.. am I becoming an alcoholic?
i am almost 24 and have been drinking pretty regularly since 17 believe it or not..(I had really “cool” parents and really sketchy friends..

i also am addicted to coffee
• i cant tell you to be honest, but i'll tell you this: if you pour mouth wash in a cup and your body allows you to drink it because it feels like you're doing shots, you might be an alcoholic

        • "Alcohol is a depressant, but that won't stop the working class from believing otherwise..." Seriously though, if you're getting irritaed, etc. and having what seems like withdrawal symptoms, I'd certainly take a moment to self reflect and maybe try a dry streak for a while.

        •
Behold the alcoholized animals, bemused with drink, the right to an immoderate use of which comes along with freedom. It is not for us and ours to walk that road. The peoples of the Goyim are bemused with alcoholic liquors; their youth has grown stupid on classicism and from early immorality, into which it has been inducted by our special agents -- by tutors, lackeys, governesses in the houses of the wealthy, by clerks and others, by our women in the places of dissipation frequented by the Goyim.
• It’s not like you’re getting sh.. drunk wasted and drink every night I don’t really see the problem. I get like that too from time to time (just wine really). As long as you know your boundaries and keep it at 1 glass, maybe two a night, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Man, that might be a physical addiction, not sure. I know I consider myself an alcoholic, even though I have been clean and sober for 10 years now. I quit drinking entirely at one point because I was drinking to be happy and I felt it was wrong that I should need something to make me happy. Then I started back after a year or 2, but I forced myself to only have a max of 2 beers or 1 single hard drink, drank very slowly. If I felt a buzz coming on, I would pour out what was left and stop drinking. I know that if I ever allow myself to go back to that hard drinking, I will not be able to stop again, that is why I consider myself an alcoholic. You have to make that determination for yourself and make that choice to stop for yourself or it will not take. I wish you the best of luck, no matter your choice. Just be safe and stay out from behind the wheel. Also, do not ask your friends to hold your beer while you do something.....

                • Funny story actually cause I remember there was this one time I was hanging out at chili’s with my boys like we always doing. So we go in and we sit down at the bar ya know, my boy Richie leans over to me and starts talking to me about how he got this drinking problem, I’m just sitting there listening to him not really caring about anything ya know me. So we been sitting there for like 30 minutes now and this boy still talking about his damn drinking problem, at this point I ain’t even paying attention to him cause ya know me I’m trying to look for some nice young ass to catch, underage of course. As I’m looking around I see my other boy triple rich ya know he passed out already from all the drinking so ya know this gives me an opportunity to slip away and get some young ass, in the meantime my boy Richie looks like he’s talking to an alcohol bottle. So ya know I slip away and walk around looking for some grills but can’t find any so ya know I might as well come back some other time.

                  • If you can’t not have it, the you’re on your way. However since you know to ask yourself this, it means you are aware of a problem and can put a stop to it before it becomes to big to handle on your own.

                    • I think that the "healthy" amount is 6 standard drinks per week, anything over is damaging to your health. If i could give a pro tip, it would be. Stick to beer and wine, never go spirits..... Once you hit those spirits your tolerance will go through the roof and you'll be smashing down a whole bottle of vodka every night just to get that high.

                      • The way you've described it, I'd say yes. The fact you made this thread means you realize you have a problem. I'd say better to just avoid the stuff for a while. At the most 1 6 pack a week since beer wont just put you away immediately and it provides a clear pace and metric for how your week is going Also, don't eat out much for a little while or if you do ask the waiter/waitress to make sure you have no more than 1 drink

                      • Sounds like it is about to get out of hand. I come from a family that is loaded with people who suffer from alcoholism. Two of my uncles lost INCREDIBLE jobs because they gave in. My younger sister learned that she cannot have just one drink when she lived in NYC and she has had to stop drinking altogether. I was always the more cautious one. Drinking socially with friends and family under a very strict, self imposed rule of two. When one sips and savors, no one is keeping count of how much you drink. It may be time for you to stop. If these cravings are that bad, that is not a good sign. If you can’t stop by yourself, under your own will power, it’s okay. There are thousands like you. There is no shame in asking for outside help. Whatever your decision, I wish you luck and all the best.

                      • Sounds an awful lot like the start of an addiction. Maybe go see someone who can help with this sort of thing before it turns into an addiction and you end up dead in a car crash. Hypnotists are one way of slowly convincing yourself to not drink, smoke or do drugs and whatever so one of them might be able to help you with this little problem. But my advice in the broadest terms to steer away from alcohol and if you do end up buying it then get rid of it by giving it to a Friend or as a gift for someone at work.

                      • You could try simplifying your explanation and getting rid of filler words. This will more easily help you pinpoint the truth. For instance, your post could be summarized as "I cannot resist getting drunk on 50% of my nights" You might not be a full-blown alchoholic who can't function, but it definitely seems you have a dependency/addiction issue that could turn into alcoholism quickly. As a smoker who started at 15, I understand this all too well. I'm 25. I fail at resisting the urge to stop at the store and pick up smokes. If I go without them for a weekend or something then I get really touchy and can't think or focus much. I feel on edge at work without a smoke. That's the bitch about substances that are addictive. Most of them are natural depressants. So while you are fighting the varying degrees of depression they cause, your mind is also stuck in the loop of believing they are necessary for you to function. Which may be true in the short term due to the dependency affects they have on you. My advice, just quit cold turkey and fight through the craving and short term side effects of quitting. Once those wear off, you will be in a far better place and feel "awake" again.

                        • You do have a problem, that is clear. You may have an addiction to drinking and a self control problem but to go as far as alcoholism we would need more information on how alcohol effects your life in some way by answering questions such as: >Do you require alcohol to get through the day? >Does lack of alcohol have effects on your mood and personality? >Do you have mood swings >Do you avoid people (family or friends) while drinking? >Do you have problems with memory even though people can confirm you didn't pass out? >Are you having issues within your social life or finances because of your drinking? And plenty more questions but you can answer more at this link here
i also am addicted to coffee
Maybe not coffee but caffeine addiction is a thing. Unless you get decaf all the time, then you may just be extremely susceptible to addiction.
