Her we are day three. I wish I could say I welcome you with open arms, but I would be lying. Three days in the deepest, darkest circle of hell. Three days of being Destiny and Destiny 2 clean. And what do I get for this arduous journey? Well, much like any addict, an extremely bad case of the shakes, nausea, a freaking migraine that could kill the world and the cold sweats!
Over the last three days I have contacted Sony five times. The first resulted in futility. The second, with me having to re-establish my personalization and settings customizations. The third with a database rebuild and the same as the second. My third adventure with Sony led to a little more fruitful rewards, namely Sony acknowledging they were to blame for my current misfortune. But alas, my latest encounter with my nemesis leaves me reeling and speechless.
Sony has apparently retracted their previous claim to blame ownership. In my phone call with them today, they are saying the fault lies with my ISP. Sony says it is a Port issue and I need to contact them and have them enter a list of ports and this should remedy my current dilemma. Rubbish I say!!! Absolute hogwash! Logically observing the current issues leads me to a different conclusion and question.
How is it the fault is with my ISP? Does that mean all the other players experiencing and sharing my plight are also in the same boat? That would mean multiple ISP's are experiencing port issues. And not just here in the dear old US of A. But around the world. Furthermore, if it was an ISP Port issue, shouldn't it have reared its ugly head prior to now?
Looks like my current answer to the problem from Sony only leads me to more questions. The most pressing of all being, what the hell is going on and when will I be able to play Destiny, or any online multiplayer game, again?!? SMH!
