No, I'm not going to put this year. Though 2013 didn't exactly have a lot of time with the new generation full stop.
For me, easily 2016:
Doom and Uncharted 4 are two of the best single-player titles of the generation so far: beautiful, epic adventures of mad spectacle and ...well, Uncharted bore some epic drama.
But game of the year? Overwatch. I'd call it this generation's Halo or Left 4 Dead for the many hours of multiplayer shenanigans I've enjoyed on it. Absolutely fantastic stuff.

The AAA games of today's generation just aren't as endearing as the true classics.
