I know everyone and their 2nd cousin's uncle are weighing in on their opinion of the TWAB this week due to the "promises of listening"
My main issue was the lack of acknowledgement that they made mistakes with D2.
I would have much rather seen a little humble pie mixed in with their proposals for what they are going to do.
The lack of understanding and ADMITTING from Bungie that they screwed up makes it seem like they dont feel they made any mistakes, but they need to do something to appease the masses.
I think it was pretty apparent that the masses LOVED the new Mayhem mode. Yeah yeah some say no skills, but having a quick rough and tumble free for all was pretty fun.
What does Bungie do? They say "oh yeah, it's coming back as a limited-time even in season 3 and going forward. So, no permanent Mayhem mode. We get it in short doses. As if we have WAY too many crucible modes to choose from and they don't want to over stimulate us with too many choices...
The forums have been awash with people decrying Eververse. With the focus lately on loot boxes and gambling traits Bungie needs to make a strong bold statement to address these issues with the player base. Eververse should be a cosmetic only vendor with each item having set price to procure it. No more RNG when you are spending real world money.
At this point Bungie should do the following:
1 - re-implement most items, gear, systems from D1 - instead of reskinning these items or trying to pass them off as new content. Just give it back to us with the understanding that they are adding these items back to help fill back in some content. It is not a placeholder or trade off for NEW content, but a means to get us back close to where we were in Y3 of D1.
2 - Commit to making NEW content. The addition of items/systems from D1 is merely a bandaid to get us by while they crank out the new stuff. An expansion should be full of content that helps to drive the game. Not something that leaves people with a "meh" feeling. The infinite forest has a lot of potential. It can serve as an easy hub for a slew of new content.
3 - Change Eververse. I don't have a problem with RNG on the Engrams you earn when leveling up. However they should have each cosmetic item listed for silver price. Make it where if you want that exotic sparrow you know exactly how much real world currency you have to spend to get it.
4 - Listen. Truly listen to the playerbase. Yeah there are a LOT of salty bastards in the forums, but there are also a lot of players who feel the same way, but just dont express our concerns. Bungie has developed a reputation for talking a lot but not saying much. If they actually took the time to listen to the players they will learn what we want.
Bungie has said often they make games they want to play. Destiny 2 was the 2nd highest selling game for 2017. The highest PC game for Activision ever. It has surpassed Destiny 1 now for sales overall. That says there are a LOT of players who want to play your game. You guys have done some great work in the past and the players believe in you and your product. We all want you to succeed. Destiny has some of the best potential for growth and expansion if Bungie can ever get their shit together enough to make it happen.
Please Bungie listen to the players. Admit to your mistakes and eat some humble pie. Then commit to making positive changes and get this franchise back on the intended path.
Peace out.

Isn’t the fact that they said that they would be changing things enough of an acknowledgement that things aren’t perfect?
