A (maybe, I dunno) Simple Change To Make Destiny 2's Loot System More Exciting And Impactful

With all the negative yet necessary posts about Mayhem and Eververse dominating the forums, (I agree with the overall opinion of the community on those topics) I figured I would post something a bit more constructive. This has been on my mind for quite a while now, but I don't and most likely won't have a big enough voice to get anyone to listen. Also, this post isn't focused on every single problem with Destiny 2, so please in the comments don't try and make your points based on other issues of the game. I only want feedback relating to this post specifically. So here I go I guess. Before I begin, let's pretend a few things are true about the state of Destiny 2. For one, let's pretend Bungie's focus on the game isn't 1000% balance, and instead making the game more fun and enjoyable to play. Let's also pretend that Bungie's focus isn't on making the game more "casual-friendly" as some may call it. So, here's the change: Take the existing mod system for weapons and scrap it. Turn every trait perk on weapons (Triple Tap, Explosive Payload, Outlaw, Kill Clip, etc) into its own mod. We can call these Trait Mods for simplicity. Every weapon would come with a random Trait Mod, as long as it is able to go on that weapon type. Whenever you dismantle or infuse a weapon, the Trait Mod that was on it would be added to your inventory. The ONLY way you should be able to obtain Trait Mods is by getting a weapon to drop. No Eververse, no Gunsmith. This would make getting duplicates WAY more exciting. There would also be Legendary versions of these mods. This would add Random Rolls back and make the mod system on weapons actually useful. Then, you would also be able to swap out whatever Trait Mod you want, again, as long as it can go on that weapon. For example, if I got a Better Devils with Dragonfly and I wanted Outlaw on it, I could swap that Trait Mod out and my gun would have Outlaw on it. In my system, you shouldn't lose the mod you swapped out for another Trait Mod. It would just go back into your inventory (and yes, the inventory space for mods would have to be increased). This system would be similar to Reforging, but you would have more control. The issue with Reforging before was that you could just press a button until you run out of materials or until you got a godroll. With this system, you still need to get a weapon to drop with the perk you want. But wait, it doesn't stop there. You may or may not be asking, "But what about Masterworks?" Well, that was exactly what I was getting to. We all know that Masterwork weapons have kill trackers on them. So why not make the tracker more useful? Let's say that after you get 500 kills with any Masterwork weapon, you would unlock another slot for a Trait Mod. As stated earlier, we are pretending that Bungie's focus isn't on balance. And besides, having 2 perks on a weapon isn't a new concept. We had it in Destiny 1. This would add a huge amount of value to Masterworks, and would allow for a more personalized weapon, as you would be able to mix and match whatever perks you want on it. This would also make Masterworks a way to increase your Power even more, as you could have 2 Legendary Trait Mods on it, increasing the Power Level even more (I know Power Level isn't that impactful as it could be, but for the people that care about it, it would be there). If you got through all this, I congratulate you. Do I think this change will fix Destiny 2? Not even close. Do I think this change would go through? No. Do I expect a Bungie employee to read this? Nope. This has just been on my mind for a few months now and I wanted to share my thoughts on the matter. But if I can get at least one Bungie employee to read this, I would be elated. Please be civil, there's already enough toxicity in these forums. I just wanted to post something constructive. If you have any thoughts that aren't "this idea sucks" or "you don't know what you're talking about" I would love to hear them.
For one, let's pretend Bungie's focus on the game isn't 1000% balance
You misspelled 'profit to work ratio' As for the rest of your post, I believe the issues with this game are far worse than unexciting loot. When the foundation of your game revolves around profit and not a quality game with replay value, band-aid fixes are not only useless but counter-productive for us consumers who put effort into listing bad-aid fixes and not demanding overall quality first and foremost.
