Hakke ARs

I'm just leaving this here for now, since I respond to everything with "I love the Halfdan-D" and rant about how much I want another one. *cough cough Loquitor IV* Since I'm a Halfdan-D Main and my phone autocorrects for me now, I'll respond to any question and will probably edit the post with tips when I get bored, respond to bump me up lol I know most people don't like it, but I find it's unique abilities allow it to shine. Halfdan-D attachments:
Outlaw, made useless by titan T-bag shields and the hunters ability that does the same thing... but in a pinch quite nice considering it's slow rate of fire makes it long between reloads, giving you plenty of chance to crit kill something Armor-Piercing Rounds, which switch out of the more stable magazine upgrade making it hard(er) to aim... again though AP rounds truly shine against groups of enemies, and with higher body damage than most ARs the damage adds up... if you focus on stacking enemies in your sights. The two sights are pretty simple: Lower zoom red dot with little in the way Higher zoom target finder with terrible reticle, but easier to fire with recoil Throw in the masterwork system: Reload - useless unless your just that desperate to make the slowest AR reload faster when it has Outlaw on it Range - maxes it out, right now trying it out, haven't noticed anything better... Other two: dunno won't say anything till I try them (I have some Halfdan-D dups I plan on Masterworking)
Common Strategies for the Halfdan-D:
As of right now, you can make use of its raw damage at short to medium ranges with little damage falloff... however it's range kicks in sooner than you'd expect of a weapon that has more range than scout rifles, not to mention it's recoil makes it somewhat difficult to hit small hit boxes at range (vex, scions)... Most of the time I don't bother to fire at longer ranges, but certain enemy types are fine to shoot at, like centurions and hive, that have big enough crit hit points for the target assist to kick in (hit boxes seem larger) My favorite use is AP rounds and crowd control... when dealing with crowds (hive runners and cabal dogs or just any given hallways) you can deal more raw damage to a whole group, especially if you actively watch where enemies are... I tend to aim at enemies behind my first target and aim at them instead tbh... The one little thing this AR lacks in is raw DPS, which becomes visible against yellow names... crit shots don't count as much (lousy 10% it seems) making it more difficult to eat through big health bars without a good crit mult. That said, it has the same magazine size as the 450s so you still do a bit more damage per magazine. Just be aware that this weapon is better suited in other situations. Ad control: AP rounds, high damage per bullet, good mag size= room clearer... ever start the song of savathun and think why so many ads? As no more, have one person with this baby on your team with it masterworked, and orbs of light for days! In that strike I average a hundred kills and 40 orbs.
Crucible:
Just don't

Like I said, dps is NOT it's strong point, dealing only 5-4 points more damage on average, AND being just a little damage off from having one less bullet per kill... you will die more often than not using this weapon class considering it's beat by scouts at long range and other ARs at close range... Unless they ACTUALLY buff it's crit damage to be better, it will never truly have a stable place in Cruc. It was fun to use in laser pointers and mayhem tho, which means it was solid when not worrying about beating the metas
Personal wish for this weapon class:
Personally, more damage to make the risk of lower fire rate worth it, and wouldn't mind a nerf to magazine size. More crit retention: some bosses, yellow names, and Crucible have more defense against headshots and crit multipliers. More variety: currently the only one in rotation is the Halfdan-D, after 5700 kills with my master work, I can't help but wonder if they would make one with different perks. I'm currently hoping that Loquitor IV (New Monarchy clan rally reward AR) behaves at range a lot better (it has a long range optic! And ricochet rounds that improve stability!) But so far I'm worried at how the stats look worse than the Halfdan-D's stats.
Also dumb ideas: Drum mag- tons of ammo, long reload, would fulfill my dreams of an machine gun primary Burst switch- turns it into a pulse rifle with a steadier ROF than a typical pulse rifle... I've used the hakke bursts, but god they're awful in DPS and worse in follow up rounds Explosive payload: for when you absolutely must *BAM* something up
