Dear Bungie,
I'm typing this, while I sit at work (don't tell the boss), because I, who should be considered a valued customer, feel as though I am being treated as nothing more than a cash cow. How you can totally ruin a game that had so much promise and completely alienate a loyal and rabid fan base is baffling to me and to those I play with. Since you don't seem to understand the problems with the game I will now lay them out for you as I see them and as I have heard from every single person I have played with (this is not an exageration, everyone has complained about at least one of these points).
I'm not going to list these in any particular order, because I think we all agree they all suck. So first I'm just going to start by saying the gun play is slow and boring, don't believe me? Go play D1 for 10 minutes. Enough said. Next point is that we no longer feel like a bad ass guardian, we are supposed to be saviors, instead we are slightly over powered soldiers who's grenades kill no one, melees are a joke and are supers are easily rendered useless. If I as a f*@king hero hit someone with a grenade and melee them they should be dead, instead a grenade and a melee has little effect lol am I missing something here??? Next point the weapon system as it stands is terrible, we get 2 crappy weapon slots and power weapon slot, but the you have grouped fusion rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers (does anyone use these?), and sniper rifles, all of which made us feel like bad ass guardians, with rocket launchers. Who had that brilliant idea?? The vast majority of people don't use anything except R.L.s, which has made the crucible dull, repetitive and boring, it's no damn fun at anymore, again don't believe me go play D1 for 10 minutes. Easy fix? Keep the lame kinetic and energy weapons but make a new tier and put shotguns, fusion rifles and sniper rifles back in a tier that makes us feel like heroes again, then bring back the machine guns for the power slot and group those with rocket launchers and grenade launchers. It really is that easy. Because the way it stands right now we will never see a icebreaker again, and how much fun was the icebreaker? Not just using it but the time and effort, in other words the grind it took to get it, then the joy you felt when you finally got it, the smooth feel off it, the fact that if you shot someone with it they were almost dead at the worst, it truly made you feel powerful, (ok yeah maybe I have a love affair with my icebreaker but so what), we will never have another icebreaker or if we do no one will use it because sniper rifles are extremely under powered now, why have a sniper rifle when I can just stand on the other side of the map and shoot a rocket and kill at least one person. I ramble I know. Next point is the constant power ammo drops in crucible, it's so bad that crucible has become nothing but run to the power ammo and shoot rockets at everyone that's it, the team who gets the power ammo the most wins, it again makes for a boring and repetitive game. I wouldn't mind seeing it go back to just dropping once or maybe twice a round and the whole team gets it not just one person, I would be totally fine with that and I think most would be. Next point is the 4 v 4 matches in crucible. I don't have a huge problem with the 4 v 4 but I do enjoy 6 v 6 better, again 10 minutes on D1, but I have a bunch of friends who hate it, it has turned crucible into nothing but a team shot game, no one feels like a hero, instead I think I killed someone, not really sure because it's a jumbled mess of 4 people standing across from 4 other people all shooting and hoping they stay alive, no skill required just stand and shoot, I get 4 v 4 was supposed to cut down on the confusion of crucible but most everyone I have talked to says bring back 6 v 6. Next make the crucible maps bigger, D1 again just go play it already, now they are so small and confined it's a joke, we get spawned in front of people literally shooting at us, how many of you have spawned only to get rocketed in the face??? Don't tell us you fixed that either because we all know that's bull, make the maps bigger and it solves that problem all by itself. Another thing about 4 v 4 that makes no sense is that if I'm with a group of friends and we are playing the raid and we then decide to go play some crucible together we have to kick 2 people out, is D2 not the most anti social mmo you've ever played? Now let me talk about the raid, I will first say that I have never completed the raid in D2, I have no desire to in all honesty, I see nothing in the raid that I have to have, and if there is something I might want from the raid there is no guarantee that I will even get it, instead it's possible to grind a boring uninspired raid over and over and over again and still not get the item you want. That is not a fun grind, that is not the kind of grind we as a fan base desire, if you want to see how to do the endgame in a loot based shooter go check out Warframe, gives us something special to grind for, whether it's different rolls on weapons which I think most people miss as part of the end game, I played D1 day after day grinding away trying to find that perfectly rolled luna that fit my play style perfectly, I never got that luna but I came back every day trying, or give us something similar to Warframe something we feel we are working towards every time we play.
Ok so these are just a few of the complaints I've heard over the last few months and I haven't even gotten into the vault space issues, eververse (can we say cash cows?), the shader system, etc. I could go on and on but I'm tired of typing and to be honest I really don't think Bungie gives 2 sh*ts about me as a valued customer. Why would they? They already have my and countless other peoples money so they got theirs. As for me and my friends it's amazing how much more time lately we have spent playing D1 and how much fun we have doing it. I'm curious to see the numbers of people who have gone back to playing D1, maybe Bungie should look at that and take note but we know they won't.
Well I've said my peace, SMlLE bitchez!!

D1 was like chess... wonderfully unbalanced yet balanced. At least before the nerfs started. Most things had effective counters. D2 is like chess with only pawns.
