No item from the Eververse is relevant for the games in terms of improving your gaming experience (like e.g. giving you more power in some way). It's all just stuff for the looks and the vault. You don't need it.
So why the f* don't you stop whining about it and simply ignore it?
I am getting so many bright engrams just from playing the game that I couldn't care less about Eververse. Plus, I dismantle all Eververse armor because a) I don't need it b) I don't like the looks of most of it and c) it took me ages just to get the right mods for the armor I have to tailor it to the particular foci of each character (like having a perfect Stormcaller setup etc.).
Get over it, don't spend money there, and stop wasting your energy on Eververse rants when this is the least of the problems Destiny 2 has, will you?

It’s not the Eververs that has people pissed. It’s the time invested into it by the devs vs. the time spent improving the game. I wouldn’t care about the cash shop at all if I felt like the dev team was putting as much effort into making the player experience better. Unfortunately right now it feels like all the effort is going into Eververs and not the changes this game needs to stay competitive.

Destiny has a lot of problems, cosmetics is just one of them true. The rest of this is wrong, cosmetics are important and the only one whining here is you, after all we are not using f-words in the title ;)

Destiny is a shooter looter game. We paid $60 for the game and $20 for dlc. Then Bungie decides to put much of the loot behind a paywall. It's the greed, this isn't a free to play game.

It’s not the least of D2’s problems, it’s one of its main problems. If you want us to follow the simple concept of not spending money then Bungie can follow the simple concept of not selling new content after just releasing a paid DLC. It’s tasteless. If the content is already in game and obtainable from playing why sell it in the first place? And if your answer is to fund the Live Team and future updates then what did the millions of games sold and DLC just fund? D2 hasn’t been around an entire fiscal quarter yet, they don’t need funding for content anytime soon. Simply don’t buy it? How about simply not sell it.

I know, all these idiots on the remove Eververse bandwagon, when the answer is simple. Don't spend.
