... and MTX in general, doesn't matter if cosmetic or not.
I hear a lot of people defending MTX saying: "You can get everything for free" but that's a non-argument. A company could theoratically make the grind thousands of hours long with the excuse "You can get everything for free".
But that's not the issue. The issue is not getting them for "free" but rather how you acquire them. Currently in lootbox-based MTX you get cosmetics as participation trophies for playing the game (doesn't matter what you do, just do anything). And therein lies the problem. The cosmetics are worthless, the hold no value.
Let's be real, cosmetics acquired through completing challenging content is worth more than getting a random cosmetic as a level up reward. To further put salt in the wound you can also buy them.
If I'm honest I do feel that there could be a balance between in-game rewards and MTX. But implementing activity-specific ships, shaders, ghosts etc. would not only take them away from eververse, but also would most likely reduce eververse sales as a result and bungie/activision doesn't want that.
Your role as a moderator enables you immediately ban this user from messaging (bypassing the report queue) if you select a punishment.
