Its not that. Grinding for regular eververse items is alright but throughout the whole dawn event for 3 weeks, you can only get a total of 9 dawning engrams. Meaning, it's impossible to get what you want. Sure you can buy things with bright dust but that doesnt mean someone has enough bright dust to purchase the items for every one of your characters. Plus, the Gift Schematic rewards don't give bright dust upon dismantling so it means you're really limited on bright dust after purchasing 2-3 items with said bright dust. Grinding for illuminated engram's isnt a problem, its the fact that dawning engram's are too limited.

Yeah i agree i only got one set, but my point is and it might sound like im supporting bungie but im not. This is a store and for example ill use wow in there store you can buy mounts cool looking armour etc that isnt available in game bungie has made it available in game but they also want people to spend money its not how i seen destiny going but its not wrong what they are doing. They have still given us choice.
