People right now are on the side of !DOWN GOES EVERVERSE!, which is good, but be mindful to what the problem with eververse is.
List of what it isnt ( I will cover why they arent after)
* Paywall for everyone so they need to buy silver
* Filler for missing content
* Gambling system
Before you click that down arrow, yes eververse does TOUCH, but by no means is it any of these points completely. The ROOT and the definitive truth is progression is all based off of eververse and what is eververse selling for us? COSMETICS! That's right, the problem is their is no end game because every new thing we earn is purely cosmetic and doesnt enhance our game, there is lots of new stuff but its ALL purely cosmetic and replaceable. When they include new content as pure emotes, shaders, ornaments and other things it makes it so the whole grind that people lived for is gone because it's useless, RNG, and well useless
TL;DR: it's not pay2win, its the progression system is shit and eververse is the filter
KNOW WHAT YOU'RE FIGHTING FOR!

And to those poor souls who retort saying, "Well it is all cosmetics, if you don't like it just don't buy it." Then you miss the point of the community's backlash. Below I will explain and enlighten: People spending money how they see fit is not the problem. Bungie focusing on how to corral those types people exclusively and trying to make Eververse more and more addicting for those people to part with that money rather than focusing on making a superb game that feels interesting and unique, with replayability and variety IS the problem. Since their focus is entirely on Eververse we get a mediocre DLC added onto a mediocre game. For those of us who spent our own money hoping for a Destiny that was going to be some where between Destiny the Taken King and Halo, considering Bungie had 3 years to learn from Destiny 1, are we are supposed to be okay with a mediocre game with its most polished feature being Eververse? If Bungie spent equal parts with Destiny 2 and Eververse, maybe we wouldn't be so up in arms about Eververse. I mean what does it say when there are more exciting things in Eververse than all of the Curse of Osiris DLC? This is why most of us are against Eververse. I didn't purchase a game called Eververse, I purchased a game called Destiny 2. If Bungie just focused more on the game rather than a single feature within the game then this frustration would never have popped up to begin with.
