The ghostly ship was a wreck inside. Everything looked scorched to some degree, and there was no end to the floating corpses of crewmen and robots. Either the reactor had blown, or something had fried the ship. Lights would occasionally flicker on and off, revealing details in certain areas. The cargo hold was down a set of lit hallways, conveniently, and there seemed to be a locked door at the end of the hall.
Alternatively, there seemed to be a hatch leading to what was labeled as a secondary bridge. That's where the signal must've been coming from, as whatever main bridge the ship had had been blown off, drifting elsewhere in orbit.
